Yep! Power, tone, and resolution come immediately to mind. However, some of the old tube stuff if properly overhauled can sound just fine in undemanding situations with the right speakers.
ironically the best new tube amps emulate the sound of the old classics. buying used vac, cary,cj etc is the best of both worlds unless you are a collector too.
