Check out Rogue. They are good and made in the USA. It won't be long before all this stuff is made in China. Simply a matter of economics. The good news is that Chinese manufacturing is getting much better and is, primarily, based on American and Europeon designs.

Why not look at the new Rogue?

Look at the crdevelopments site www.crdevelopments.com they have a good range of integrated amps.They are made in the UK and even have a couple with built in phono stages.If your son has efficient speakers the Audion products also sound great.The other nice sounding made in Europe piece is the Tesla they were being distributed from Florida.What about an old Sonic Frontiers CPA-1 or an Anthem from Canada or a Cary from Home.

I love my SLI-80 but the going used price is about 1800 rather than 1500. It is quite powerful for a tubed integrated so it can drive more speakers than other tubed integrateds.
