Hi Everyone, I need some advice , I will be re-tubing my ARC ref 1. I have the Sovtek type tubes in the unit, I find them a bit harsh up top and I am not to crazy about the bass. I need something warmer and sweet with great bass? Any advise ?
You will get warmth with those Mullards. Good sources for NOS in my experience have been Brent Jesse and Vintage Tube Services. Hardes part is getting closely matched and balanced pairs, but these guys seems to do a good job.
