Can you run a R2R Tape Deck thur the SP11 preamp?

I just bought an AKAI GX-4000D Reel 2 Reel Tape Deck in museum condition. It looks and works beautifully. How would or could I connect it to the SP11? The SP11 has Tape1 and Tape2 connections on the back. (I assume this was for Two cassette decks to record one from the other) Is that all there is? No playback for cassette or R2R tape decks?
Probably a dumb question but If anyone has a solution I'd love to hear it.
