You have good taste Rushton, Haven't heard the Argo, but music doesn't get any better than EMI 065 03667 !

eddie floyd, big bird--mindbogglingly great r&b tune from the curiously underrecognized singer/songwriter (he wrote "knock on wood" and many others)
elvis perkins, ash wednesday--tony's son; very talented; unusually structured folk-rock with dark lyrics; sorta hypnotic

Schubert, if you find any enjoyment in 20th century composers, Elizabeth Maconchy is well work seeking out. These quartets by Walton and Maconchy are simply scrumptious.
