Preamp Deal of the Century

If anyone is looking for a true "World Class" preamp at a very fair price..heed my advice. I just recieved a Supratek Syrah preamp that was hand built by Mick Maloney in Western Australia, and it is absolutely beautiful! This preamp is the best deal you will ever find. I would put it up against any preamp out there for both looks and sound. Price? $2500 for the Syrah (includes Killer Phono stage). Not into phono? Try the Chardonney line stage for $2100. Don't get me wrong, I am not associated with this company. I am just a very happy owner! This preamp is VERY dynamic, yet liquid. It conveys the sound of music better than any other preamp that I have ever heard! You can check out the Supratek website at www. cantech.net.au

Longho68,

Thanks for the info on the remote volume. Does anyone know where I can get a pair of Tung Sol 12B4A tubes?
Another question for Cortese owners. Do you prefer the 6sn7 linestage setup or the 6j5 linestage setup? I spoke with Ecclectique and he got his in the 6j5 setup. He feel it sounds great and that the tubes are much less expensive. Any other opinions?
Hey Dennis The Menace. I am happy your pleased..They truly are terrific and my definitive tube of choice next to the WE 350b's. Enjoy! Slowhand, email me offline re: tung sol 12b4a's.

Slowhand,
.
Mine is in the 6sn7 format and it is just wonderful (using Tungsol, Black Glass, Round Plates).
.
I just can't imagine with all we do (spend) that it would be worth it to try to save on the tubes at this level.
.
Having said that, I have not heard both configurations. You would have to hear both in the same system to be able to discern the real difference.
.
I would ask Mick which set up sounds best with the best tubes in place and assuming your budget will allow (even it won't), go for what will be the best sound.
.
Thanks for starting all of this for all of us.
