Guess I'll add my 2 cents too. My gear is all ARC: Ref 5 line stage; VS 115 amp; PH-8 phono pre; and CD-8. Right now I'm listening to Sir George Solti conducting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, opera -- Carmen. The LP is London ffrr. Folks, maybe I'm ready for hearing aides, but I hear no deficiencies whatsoever from what's coming out the front end. 3-D imaging, sweet, natural sounding, and balanced tonality, imaging seems to be coming from a foot or so behind the fronts. One of the singers has stale breath, so if, you're looking for a criticism, I can't figure out who it is with my rig. Hifigeek (Gary), any thoughts about how I can resolve out the guy with the bad breath?? LOL Other than that . . . what's to complain.
Btw, for those who are still into vinyl, I think you'll like a lot of the old London ffrr and Phase 4 pressings. I picked up the Carmen 3 LP box set for a "song" (get the pun -- ha ha).
But as Oregonpapa says, "to each his own."
