repair for Mark Levinson 383

Hello, My ML383 amp recently failed. I sent it to one of the service centers and was told that it'll cost over $1300 to get it repaired. The reason they said is that a capacitor on the left channel voltage gain board failed in such a way that the circuit board itself has been damaged and therefore cannot be repaired, and as a result this board needs to be replaced (about $950 plus labor).

I'm devastated. I wonder if anyone has had experiences with repair for ML components. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There is two 44000uF/75V filter caps on each channel.
Are you saying one of the caps failed?
I am not buying the circuit board cannot be repaired. A good technician can trouble shoot which resistors are burnt and replace other damaged parts. Also replace all power supply filter and regulator caps.

If you don't fix it, I'd be happy to pay top dollar for your remote and manual BeauBlanco@gmail.com & even the original box...
