Mendelssohn Piano Concerto

Not an SACD, but an excellent recording and performance - Stephen Hough on Hyperion. Volume 17 of "The Romantic Piano Concerto". Also includes No 2, and three other pieces. This is an excellent series of lesser known piano concertos for anyone curious. I've gotten most of them and there have only been a couple of personal disappointments in the bunch even though I've more often than not never heard of the composers.

Joseph Kalichstein/Jaime Larado/Scottish Chamber Orchestra on Nimbus. Well scaled, lots of brio, yet delivering appropriate lyricism. Not sacd, and maybe hard to find, but worth the hunt.

There is a weekend london cd recording of both 1&2 piano concertos with Peter Kantin at the piano. The cd is not in issue on the weekend London label but I am sure Decca or London released it with even better sound.
