Favourite ECM Titles

Nice thread. Haven't seen these mentioned yet, all fantastic:

-Jack DeJohnette: New Directions in Europe (live)

-Art Ensemble of Chicago: Nice Guys, Full Force, and Urban Bushmen (live)

ECM always got a great sound in live recording as well as their studio stuff.

My biggies:

Dave Holland "Emerald Tears" (incredible solo bass)
Gateway- first two albums

And an unusual Kieth Jarrett is Spheres, where he performs on an organ (not a Hammond B3, think cathedral type organ).

coincidentally, i just picked up a copy of bennie maupin, jewel in the lotus. incredible piece; avantgarde and accessible at the same time. i've also always like terje rypdal (what comes after being the one to which i usually default).

Roscoeiii: If you like Emerald Tears you will enjoy Life Cycle. Amazing stuff.
