Saw Emmylou Harris last night.

What a classy performer. She was great. I'll leave it at that or I'll become all maudlin and list every happy descriptive term I can think of.

Just had to tell someone.

She's playing for free 5:45-7 PM, Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Banjo Stage as part of the Not Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA. Please take public transporation as their is NO parking in this residential neighborhood for this massive free three day music fest. Google: Not Strictly Bluegrass 2011 for details. Enjoy.
I've seen her live several times but the best performance was at Benaroya Hall in Seattle with Buddy and Julie Miller. It was billed as an Emmylou Harris show and I'm sure a lot of the audience had never heard of Buddy Miller but he was clearly in charge that night.

It was an amazing collaboration and illustrated perfectly one of the things I've always admired about Emmylou. She always finds a way to make everyone she pairs with sound much better than they usually do without focusing any attention on herself.
Saw her last year at a local college.

She had a great band and was in terrific voice.

And still looking fine... :-)
