Earl Scruggs dies at 88

Rest in Peace.

I probably never would have heard of him if it hadn't been for the Beverly Hillbilly's and the theme song.

"Oh let me tell ya story bout a man name Jed"

In addition to his musical skills, his legacy very importantly includes helping bridge the generational and musical divide between traditionalists and the "newgrass/alt country/country-rock" scene, thereby enriching both sides.

My late father was big fan of Earl, I used to enjoy listening to his meticulaously cared for 78's with him. RIP
