Yeah, the La's, forgot about that really short lived band. Scousers' finest, even better than the Beatles, The Liver birds, River City People, The Kop, Emlym Hughes, Neverton FC, and not forgetting Cilla Black, now there was a voice. Sorry for this bit of UK rambling.
"One and Dones" are a unique subset of short-lived bands. The La were a good one, as was Little Village, mentioned above. I'd add The New Radicals to the this list.
OK, I've seen Little Village mentioned a couple of times now, and IMHO they don't fit the bill. I think of them more as a Supergroup composed of 4 of the best in the business, i.e. Cooder, Hiatt, Keltner and Lowe.
Although I own the CD and listen to it on occassion, I think the whole is way less than the sum of the parts.
Heck, If we're going to include "bands" like Little Village, I'll through Rockpile into the mix......
