Noise-cancelling headphones recommendation

Can someone please recommend an "effective" noise cancelling headphones for less than $40 using for 14-hour trans-atlantic flight. I did a search on Amazon and read the reviews, but all the lower priced noise cancelling headphones reviews are mixed at best. Please share your experiences.

probably can get all you want by running a search and/or posting at head-fi.org. At that price range, though, I would doubt that you would get much.

The head-fi.org is a good resource. Wheen you do a search with them you will often find yourself on another retailer's web page. No problem; it just takes a lot of work to find what you want.
