A system for my college-bound daughter
I have to say the Audioengine is a good choice for a college dorm room. Add the sub and if she’s listening to hip-hop or anything that should do. I remember my college days everyone had killer systems and the volume coming from the rooms were craz...
Raven Osprey with Spatial M3 Sapphires
@jjss49 Thanks for the input. I did contact Clayton about the Osprey and his response was ..."Yes, this amp is excellent and should have a good grip on the M3s. Good choice."That's a pretty good endorsement so I may just move towards a trial of th...
Raven Osprey with Spatial M3 Sapphires
@jjss49 thanks so much for the info, Just curious as to which of your three amps you prefer? The fact that you also have the M3's is extremely helpful.I am also looking at the LTA line and that would compare with the Raven Reflection in pricing. I...
Clearaudio or Acoustic signature Double x
You are absolutely not wrong on this rbtstock. There is not much on the Acoustic Signature tables as many go the American way but I have to say the Germans do audio very well indeed. Clearaudio included. I have the little known SPL Director/Perfor...
Clearaudio or Acoustic signature Double x
Can’t speak to the Clearaudio. I have the AS Triple X with the 12” TA1000. Similar to the XX but beefier. I think the Acoustic Signature Tables are just so so good. Clearaudio is solid but the engineering and build of the XX is amazing. High mass ...
Single ended inputs
Yeah stupid question. I should have though to view it closer but the back of this particular preamp doesn’t have red/white but upon closer examination it’s just labeled L/R Thanks wish I could delete my stupid question.https://tortugaaudio.com/pro...
Hegel fuse holder
gotta say miller is spot on and knows his stuff. I was one of those non-believers and gave it a shot. Now my fuses, interconnects, speaker cables, PCs and new Powercell UEF SE in my system are just phenomenal. Oh yeah HFTs too.‘I’ve been a critica...
Excessive Static
I had a very similar situation with static on brand new albums. Turns out the settings on my phono stage were set too high.
Advice on a budget R2R DAC
RME ADI-2DAC-FS I had an older version of this that I sold. This is there newest version. Just amazing for 1K.https://www.rme-audio.de/adi-2-dac.html
An audio rack that really does make a difference.
+1 for TimberNationI had a Lovan Tri leg stand that always interfered with the connections of my gear and was just metal and fiberboard. Chris does an incredible quality job on his racks and they are just gorgeous, acoustically functional and soli...
Solid State Phono Preamp Suggestions $3k-$4k
Not a typical choice by many but I have an Acoustic Signature w/ Hana SL running to an SPL Phonos ($1799) with great results. Very Dynamic low noise, just so nice!https://www.lowbeats.de/erster-test-phono-vorstufe-spl-phonos/
Has anyone used Synergistic Research Alive cables
I have the Atmosphere X Alive speaker cables along with a slew of interconnects and PCs, Conditioners and Fuses from SR. Some people either love or hate this company. I’m  using SPL/Director/Performer combo into Spatial M3 Sapphires. I love the im...
Interesting discovery when my carpets were cleaned yesterday!
I have the Gaia II's on my Spatial M'3 Sapphires on a hard wood floor. They are very open and dynamic sounding especially in the bass and lower midrange. They were a huge improvement to just spikes or the rubber feet. On carpeted floors I would ima...
Classic Integrated Question: Krell or Classe?
Can't speak for Classe but I have owned the Krell Digital Vanguard with my Vandys 2CE's and that combo was amazing. Very Very Dynamic and Revealing! Had great experience with Krell customer support too.
Leonard Cohen’s “Songs from the Road” sound issues
I have a few Leonard Cohen Albums both Vinyl and Digital and I feel Leonard’s vocals on some tracks are very forward in the mix. Not all of them but  Live in London is one of them. Sometimes with my Spatial M3 Sapphire speakers they seem to distor...
