Power cord upgrade
I had AQ Tornado on my Aurender N200 and didn’t like it - too dull, narrow stage, mushy. Using Nordost Heimdall 2 now and also tried Frey 2. Both are better to my ears and in my system than the AQ.  I would go with Transparent or Nordost especiall...
Help needed with new integrated amp.
Glad that worked! I an not familiar with the sound of Pontus but can you try bluesound direct to amp without the dac? See if that sounds any different. Start ruling things out.

6.5ft (78”) apart is somewhat close. Try 90” apart. Listen for a while then swap them so the tweeters are on the inside.

Have you tried spreading the speakers further apart? That usually relaxes the mids. Adjust the toe-in to get the imaging you like after. What’s the distance between the speakers now?
Time to make a change ?
Not disputing the fact that Lumin makes good sounding streamers but their UI is pretty user unfriendly. Aurender is great and has a very nice UI but the first model that features AES output is N20 at $12,000. That’s why I recommended Roon as an...
Time to make a change ?
Ron…try Roon. You won’t need BS Node.
Upgrade speakers or DAC
Whether you upgrade, the streamer or the speakers first, you’ll be upgrading the other component soon after.    I’d upgrade the speakers first but I would also say the DAC upgrade will be very significant as well. Also, in my experience, streamin...
Anyone can help... Boulder 866 for Tidal...
Based on the questions you are asking it looks like you didn’t do much research before pulling the trigger on the 866. I’ll list the possible options and you will need to do your own digging to see what fits your needs… 1. You can use Roon 2. Y...
Anyone can help with a question in use of Boulder 866....
We don’t have to worry about pc as a source with the 866 as it’s impossible to connect with USB. But the digital version of the 866 is a Roon end point so using it that way makes sense.
speakers that are a little laid back in the mids
@dpm2340 not only the distance to the front wall that matters but also how close the speakers are to each other. Creating more space between the speakers relaxes the mids. Moving them close together will bump up midbass and midrange. You have to p...

Anyone can help with a question in use of Boulder 866....
@audiowin55 this is a question that can be answered by either the owners of the Boulder 866 or the 866 manual.  There are two versions of the 866 - Analog and Digital. Both feature USB input. The Digital version includes the built in DAC that can ...
Streamer, Dac,with Pre Amp
If you like sound that’s warmer and laid back, TMR has Bryston BDA-3.14 DAC Streamer. With this unit you will probably need to subscribe to Roon as the Bryston Manic Moose is not the greatest user interface ever. But…this is a good sounding DAC an...
Back to the DAC
That’s great! I just bought a Bricasti M3 again. After I sold my M3 with network card I had 2 DACs - PS Audio DSD Mk1 and Chord Hugo TT2. I really missed the Bricasti sound - transparency, clarity, even balance top to bottom and natural presentati...
McIntosh MC312 vs. ARC Reference 150
To me McIntosh is a bit warmer and duller sounding than the ARC.  In my experience ARC is bigger sounding than the McIntosh with more details and better soundstage. McIntosh gives you a nice overall picture but ARC digs deeper into the recording. ...
