Stack Audio - Anyone knows them?
I tried their LAN filter in my system and it muffled the sound. I do have an ultra clean ethernet feed as is, using an optical isolation bundle with LPS into a quality ethernet switch before reaching the streamer, but thought I would give it a try...
Pass Labs XA30.5 Fuse Issue/Question
Sending it back to the music room for a full refund would be my only move. Done it before with zero issue as long as it's done within the return period.
Any audiophile use computer (MacBook) as your audio streaming source?
Streaming music through a computer is yesterday's technology. It is way too noisy. If you get a separate streamer with an adequate ethernet line cleaning method you will know what we are talking about.
CD Player: Vintage or modern ones?
A vote for modern CD transports. Using Jay's cdt2-mk3 with Snake River boomslang AES cable to Gustard A26 dac with outstanding results. However it will set you back a few $. Gone the way of Marantz 6005 CD player, Cambridge CXC transport and PS Au...
Sound insulation advice for home theater room in middle of the house?
@soix  Resilient channels slid onto soundproof mounts screwed into the joists is how I did the ceiling as shown in pics and described in my system. Both methods accomplish the same goal, isolating inner wall from outer wall.
Sound insulation advice for home theater room in middle of the house?
You will have to do a lot of research on google by looking at people's dedicated listening rooms to pick and choose the methods that would best apply to their layout. You are welcome to start with the construction of my house of stereo under my sy...
Speakers low pitch humming, is it normal, or real issue with preamp?
CU AQ
Oh my goodness!
@mrdecibel  Mr D hit it out of the ballpark about dedicated listening rooms. Without it you are shooting darts without a target trying to achieve sound nirvana with equipment alone.
HiFi satisfaction and/ or Musical enjoyment
My epiphany is building the house of stereo. Other than still loving to listen to music concerts live, I no longer do much music listening on my secondary system, or my car for that matter, because it is so much less enjoyable. I think a lot of it...
Whats playing on your system today?
Bat for lashes - The haunted man
Oh my goodness!
I remember someone here who claimed extraordinary results with a $500 system because he had the acoustics figured out. I also see many folks with 6 digit systems in non treated rooms who keep upgrading equipment to reach their sound nirvana. It ta...
Eversolo DMP-A8 bypassing my preamp despite setting to fixed volume out
This one will.keep you up at night. Sorry to hear your problems. I also think the issue is likely related to the ref 5se. Good luck with it.
The Allure of Vintage Audio Gear
Vintage is nostalgia. It sounded good when it came out. Today's advance in technology has greatly surpassed anything vintage. I got rid of my last 70s vintage Marantz in the 80s. Looking forward ever since.
The Low Volume Loudness Dilemma
Not sure what is considered low volume. I do most my listening at or under 70 db and it sounds excellent to me. Of course, the house of stereo is a big factor. Invest in room and room acoustics first, 350k system later.
Snake River Audio Power Cables - Best Unboxing
We should switch this discussion to fuses.
