Phono cartridge choice I agree with lewm. Take a look at SoundSmith for example or Grado. I also like the high end Ortofon MM line like the 2M series.
When using a power conditioner, why is it advised to run amps directly to the wall? Whether to plug your amps directly into the wall or into a power regenerator or power conditioner is situational dependent. Hence the variety of opinions and experiences shared in this thread. Each audiophile must start by assessing the conditio...
Compact Disc and Vinyl Habits Streaming for me is like a kiss on the telephone, I can’t feel it. I still have the first LP I ever purchased with my own paper route money in 1963. I now have about 12,000 of them. But vinyl prices have gotten stupid, so for the past year or m...
Another fun read. Enjoy I can't think of a better way to spend wealth than this. I hope it sounds good.
So, “Audio Science Review” really doesn’t like this video Well I don’t agonize over things like this the way a lot of audiophiles do. When GAIAs first were introduced to rave reviews, I tried them and really liked them. The first place I installed them was under my Sony SS-AR2 floor standers on a slate...

Will a record weight harm the motor in a direct drive turntable? Well whether there is any benefit to weighting or clamping is definitely record dependent. For perfectly flat records, I agree that there is little or no benefit and in fact a weight can actually dampen or choke the sound a bit. A clamp has no d...
Will a record weight harm the motor in a direct drive turntable? I have used record weights on both my VPI HW40 and Technics SL1200GAE without trouble. However I have also found a KAB record clamp to work as well or better for a lot less money and frankly prefer it.
South Florida - join in and make a REAL effort! I am interested. Live in Wellington.
VPI tonearm rewire One of the wires was damaged on my HW40. The arm was sent back to VPI for re-wire. I have no idea what they used, but it sounds great.
Wool Felt Footers? Isoacoustics Gaia feet need to be matched by weight to the item they are being used to support in order to be effective. They are very effective if applied correctly. I have them under both speakers and turntables and they do make a noticeable d...
Precision Aqueous Cleaning of Vinyl Records The Tiger cloth is no longer available. Is there an option or another vendor?
