REL Storm III or Strata III The Strata III has 100 watts if I am not mistaken, I believe it is the Strata II that has 60 watts.
Conditioners for power amps Is a higher voltage superior to 120? If not, I don't understand the benefit of raising the voltage.
Seeking opinion for a super duper power cord.... Gladstone, you are right, but it is incredible in a warm sounding system (tube), brings a bit of a chill to digital. Michael Fremer really liked the Fatboy in last months Stereophile if I remember correctly.
REL Storm III or Strata III I have the Strata III, I have heard the Storm, both are great. I would use the Storm in a bigger room than the size you have. They main reason to have two subs is to eliminate standing waves, so the effect of two Strata III's or two Storms would n...
Digital Interconnect Questions My Acoustic Zen MC2 comes the closest to my analogue cables after comparing at least 7 or 8 different brands. The clear, if not profound difference in cables has helped make my home theater listening "even better than the real thing". Don't just l...
Best Remote?? thanks 61, I have a Mac, am I correct in asuming that if I can download a WinPc program I can use the Pronto software? Also, how do the basic controls feel to use when it is dark? I like to be able to feel the fast forward, rewind, pause, etc. whe...
cable as tone control Simple, try Harmonic Technology's Truthlinks, they will be as good as anything at smoothing out the edge without sacrificing quality or tonal bajance. Best $150 you will ever spend on a cable, given your criteria.
Best Remote?? Thanks everyone. I have been aware of Remote Central for years (thanks Swampwalker), but found the info on the Pronto/RC5000 quite daunting, and hope that Audiogon's members can help clear the air by sharing their hands on experience.
Is there any fun in tuner? Hi Marakanetz, I live in NYC and listen to WFUV, Fordham University's station. It features some of the best DJ's who pioneered real progressive rock radio at WNEW many years back. They feature a "City Folk" sound, kind of an urban folk rock with a...
Soudstage issue Probably isn't your system. The player hears the lows slightly on the left, and highs to the right, but you shouldn't. Mediocre engineering is the most likely culprit.
What do you choose first SOUND or MUSIC? If you choose sound first, your priorities are backwards.
Yamaha DPX-1 DLP: the ultimate projector ? Davec, I am curious as to what the differences will be between the 10HT and the 11 HT. I tried Sony's website and couldn't find any info. Can you help me out here?
Combinations that exceeded your expectations? Thanks to Albert Porter I recently tried a number of isolation tweaks and of all things... the relatively inexpensive Mod Squad Soft Shoes made my CD's sound as if I'd upsampled them. Go ahead, try and take it from me! Also, I heard a Musical Fide...
These speakers look exactly like Sonus Faber Amati Homage I'd say the "Amati" looks more like the Meadowlark from the front, but that "Electa Amator" sure looks like copyright infringement to me. I'm sure Sonus Faber will pursue this.
conrad johnson or vac? Heard both, like the Vac a bit more. |
