Acoustic Panel Help I read somewhere that having a tv between your speakers is no worse than drywall or windows or wood. I’ve tried absorption covering the tv but it just sounded like the center image became diffuse, flat and dull. Uncovered sounds lively and open an...
Pre amp recommendations I have the Parasound P6 connected to PS Audio M700s to Magnepan 1.7i. I love the P6. The feature set alone is amazing and it integrates perfectly with my HT system. Sonically, it does no harm and I’m very pleased with the overall sonics of my syst...
Suggestions for a DAC/Streamer to replace BlueOS Node Streamer I have the Eversolo DMP-A6 ME and it has worked flawlessly until the last update. Now Roon doesn’t see it on the network unless I reboot my router every morning.
Is Recording quality the real culprit? Well don’t we all need just a little more cow bell…LoL! You want to hear a recording done right…. Check out: St. James Infirmary by Baba Blues on Glimer of Gold
What did you add to your 2 channel system to do HT? The feature set of the Parasound P6 preamp can’t be beat for this purpose. Sonically it doesn’t seem to do any harm. No grain/grunge. Just seems to disappear.
Suggestions on improvement Given you age related hearing dilemma, I respectfully suggest you forget about sonic improvements and get subscriptions to Roon and Qobuz and gloriously discover a whole beautiful world of new music.
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally! In all my years with Maggie’s, I’ve never found sidewall position to be a problem whether they be closer or farther away. I sit about 9’ away with about 6’ behind me to the back wall. My speakers are 5.7’ apart. This is what works for MY room and ...
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally! arafiq, give them a long break-in period. They will open up over time. In my room, I get the best imaging with the tweeters on the inside and I have the right speaker pointing to my left shoulder and the left speaker pointing to the right shoulder...
Magnepan 3.7i amp pairing PS audio M700 drives my 1.7i like a champ. Sounds great too. Dead quiet and more power than I’ll ever need. Never fatiguing. Tons of detail not too warm or too cool…just right (for me). Imagining and soundstage are all I could ask for in my room. ...
Differences between Harbeth, Spendor, Graham, etc. ? I know nothing about these speakers but I know your home is gorgeous!
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally! anzaanimalclinic, I’ve had 4 sets of various Maggie’s over the past 25yrs and none sounded great “out of the box”. It takes a while for them to reach their full potential. Could be the ones you heard in the store weren’t broken in yet. Myestands a...
Free air, tighter bass - snake oil or cheap tweaks? Not exactly cheap, but Myesound stands on my Magnepan 1.7i was worth the added expense, IMO. Also, inexpensive sound scattering panels behind the Maggie’s was a nice little improvement.
Keb Mo I saw him a few years ago at a small venue in Dallas. Just him and a few other musicians on stage. It was the most delightful concert I’ve ever experienced. It was very relaxed, not loud and almost felt like an impromptu performance. Many years ag...
Cost Incurred to Achieve a Vinyl LP Replay @asvjerry “but esoterica wanders into the Broad Fields of Unmown Growth, the Tall Corn which some disappear into, recognized only by the bleating of Profound Pleasures unknown to many...” 🤣 Well said, sir! *clink*
Musical subwoofer under $2000 Take a look at HSU Research ULS-15 MK2 Dual Drive. I’ve had HSU subs in one iteration or another for 25 yrs and have never felt like I needed “better”. However, if you need variable phase control look elsewhere. |
