Phono Pre multiple mc inputs+volume control A correction on what Lewm said above - the steelhead linestage input is not passive. The volume control is followed by an active "white follower" circuit, like the phono inputs. You can verify that on Manley's website.
VPI Super Platter out of square-will it work? I am the one who sold Manorraul the super platter. Some of the posts here suggest there is a question as to whether he can get his money back. I have assured him that as soon as the platter gets back to me (which will be tommorow according to USPS...
Garrard 301-Worth the effort? Jeremy: Now that is a gorgeous table. Proportionally very nice.
Turntable speed accuracy Ecir38 - Thanks, you are right. I couldn't see this info on the Sutherland website so I emailed them and they confirmed that the new model puts out 8 flashes per 1.8 seconds. This gives the user eight spots to choose from. I wish they would update...
Turntable speed accuracy Well, I couldn't fight the temptation so I purchased a Timeline and received it today. I turn it on, and instead of flashing once every 1.8 seconds, it flashes several times per second (maybe five or six). Does anyone else have this issue? I'm thi...
Thread source for Loricraft RCM's;also seeking f/b Fjferal: Thanks for sharing this info. You have given me a few ideas that I might try on my PRC4 - although to date I have not seen any damaged records, but I do get the occasional skip. One question - do you run the platter CCW again since that w...
Garrard 301-Worth the effort? Jeremy: I agree the finish on the Artisan's is very nice - certainly more "highly polished" than the Nantais Lenco's but the more satiny finish on the Nantais is still excellent in my opinion (I prefer the more satiny look). I also think the Artis...
Garrard 301-Worth the effort? "His [Nantais] work looks like it was built in someones shed by a high school woodshop student ..."This is an unfair comment. If you look on his website gallery, his latest tables are beautiful. You may be referring to his early work. And he deser...
New 'Vinyl Flat' flattener? After flattening, is there any negative effect on the sonics of the album? In other words, is there detectable groove damage?
Need advise on Oscilloscope Re the PC based Oscilloscopes vs stand alone units - if you check ebay there are some used DSO's selling in the range of $250 to $500 which is about what a pc based product would cost, and the specs appear to be better on the stand alone units (es...
Need advise on Oscilloscope If you can afford it, I would recommend one of the newer Digital Storage Oscilloscopes. The have an FFT function that is very useful when you want to look at the frequency domain. They also have the USB port you want.
Is power cord upgrade worthwhile on Lenco L75 I think you can find Mirko's platter on ebay, as well as his other items.
Try a different turntable? "...and suggest you were pre-conditioned..." Well this amounts to calling me non-objective - you need to have hard evidence before you do that!!! Given this accusation, I'll "stick my neck out" and say you're the one being non-objective and theref...
Try a different turntable? Re drag force of stylus - When I first read of this phenomenon, I didn't believe it would make enough of a difference to hear, but it's the only plausible explanation for what I am hearing in my system between the idler and the belt drive table I ...
Try a different turntable? Why do you call speed stability problems with belt drives a myth? Since there is no direct coupling between the motor and platter the motor/belt cannot respond to changes in the drag force from the stylus - with more flexible belts this gets worse... |
