HAVE CABLES EVER TAKEN YOUR SYSTEM FROM SOUNDING JUST OK TO SOUNDING GREAT? Experiences ?
crawfishdaddi I've been down this road a bit and my answer is a little nuanced ... once you have a cable that is: 1. Well constructed 2. Well shielded and 3. Well terminated, you will get little to no improvement in sound quality by "upgrading" ...
Audiophile Equipment Repair?
It would be helpful if you told us where you're located and perhaps which DAC you have.
Anyone else ever deal with Tidal "support"?
bobdg2000 When I ask for answers about how they determined this to be the problem, I just get a standard, "We don’t support or troubleshoot Win 7 anymore." I never got any technical answers on my issue. I don’t really think you can fault Tidal...
Sound quality of HD Radio vs CD vs Streamers??
pwerahera ... the very best FM tuners can do only so much to reproduce FM signal which is subjected to noise, hizzing and signal strength whereas HD doesn’t suffer from any of these ... Actually, so-called HD radio is very much influenced...
Subwoofer connection
bbarten Tape out. Done! Oh, no, you don’t want to connect a sub to a preamp’s tape output. That would feed a fixed level signal to the sub. In the OP's case, Y-cables connected to the preamp out (which is after the volume control) is the w...

Why do records made from digital sources sound good?
billstevenson ... how can a digital master, for example make for a better sounding record? ... If it's a truly hi-res digital master and great care is made in making LPs from it, it's possible for the LP to have a much higher extended frequenc...
Which company manufactures this Ethernet switch for the other?
richardbrand The Internet can indeed be used to deliver bit-perfect transmission using the TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol) stack ... However, streaming cannot afford the time to request retransmission of faulty packets...
Which company manufactures this Ethernet switch for the other?
richardbrand Ethernet can be made 100% reliable by detecting and retransmitting faulty or lost packets, but this is not what streaming does! Any of the quality-oriented audio streaming services (Qobuz, Tidal) use TCP/IP. If you’re running ...
