Best speakers for a Pass XA 30.5 I have the Pass Labs XA30.8 and I'm running a Proac D-30R. The Proac's are easy to drive and the D-20R should fit in your budget.Good luck
Update on Paul Laudati of Clear Day Cable So sorry to hear the news. Condolences to his family. I have a pair of his double shotgun cables as well as a set of jumpers I use on my Proac's.One of the best buys in audio in my opinion. We need more people like Paul in this hobby. He was a gen...
Marantz SA-10 Vs Esoteric K-05Xs I plug everything into the conditioner but I don't think there is a hard fast rule regarding this. I ran the amp directly into the wall and then ran it from the conditioner. I preferred it through the conditioner. As always your mileage may vary.
Marantz SA-10 Vs Esoteric K-05Xs Hi Milpai,Like you I put off power conditioning as well. My original unit was a Sound Application XE 12S. A great unit that served me well but it was getting up there in age. Got a chance to grab a Synergistic Research Power Cell 12 UEF and I feel...
Marantz SA-10 Vs Esoteric K-05Xs Hi Milpai,I don't think you can go wrong with either of your choices. The Esoteric (K-05X) will probably be a bit more forward sounding and detailed while the Marantz will be slightly more laid back in presentation. Not to muddy the waters but ha...
Organic, musical and natural sounding speakers up to $12K I would add Proac to that list as well. The D-30RS, or if you can squeeze it in the D-48R.
I'm thinking about purchasing a Luxman D-08 SACD/CD Player GreginnhHave you had a chance to compare the D-06u vs an Esoteric K-03?The D-06u is just a bit more in reach than the K-03, but I was wondering if their in the same league musically. Thanks
I'm thinking about purchasing a Luxman D-08 SACD/CD Player Also check out the AudioSharks forum as well. Do a search for Luxman and you'll see the posting about it. Needless to say the guy seems prettyhappy with it.If you do get one please keep us posted. The D-08u is a lust piece for me.
CD no more produced? I'm able to pick up CD's from Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Amoeba and other places. IMO CD;'s represent the best media value out there. A couple of weeks ago I picked up 3 new CD's for under $20. I'm still a fan of physical media and there is somethi...
Marantz sa11 S2 - upgrade to outboard DAC? I have a Modwright Marantz SA8005 and have made some tweeks along the way to improve things. As previous posters have mentioned, fuses are a great start and relatively inexpensive. My Marantz has hard wired fuses but the Modwright PS made a nice i...
Blue Circle Audio is Out of Business Sad to seem them go. Got to hear Blue Circle/JM Reynaud Offrande V2 combo at RMAF a while back. It was a great combo and really was one of the highlights of the show for me. Just wondering what happens to your Blue Circle gear now if any issues sh...
PMC Speakers You may want to look at the Proac D-48R. It might tick a lot of the boxes you listed.
What speakers are you running with your Pass Labs XA 30.8? Running Proac D-30R's with mine. They really work well together andits all the power I'll ever need with them.
Conrad Johnson amp and Pass Labs Pre I'm currently running a CJ CT-5 with a Pass Labs XA30.8. Overall itspretty nice combo. You have a lot of options out there but the CJ/Pass combo is known to be a good fit according to the folks at CJ.
The new magnificent Linear Tube Audio MicroZOTL Preamplifier Greg, Lance, Teejay,Thanks for the feedback. Its much appreciated. I'm going to put the MicroZOTL on my must audition list early next year. In general I'm not a fan of OTL. The ones I've heard have amazing detail and transparency but at the cost o... |
