Y No YG ? I have Carmels as well. Once matched up properly with the right electronics (I use a vitius ri 100) they sound fantastic. One of the very special things about them is that they have a clarity and prescience at low volumes that I’ve never heard w...
Looking for amp advice (punk, rock & reggae edition) For rock, I agree with both Plinius and hegel. Both will work. I have a hegel 160 for a system in my workout room and it’s sounds great. Good base. I’ve also had a Plinius 9200 that would meet the ill for your price range. I’ve had a Cary s...
What's your investment threshold? The basic premise of these being “investments” is wrong. these are all expenses, not invest, ents
Greatest Rock Drummers Carter Beauford....Nobody else can do what he does. And I've seen a lot of bands. Palmer is pretty far up on the list as well.BTW, seems that Audiogon should arrange for discounts with AARP now that I think about it....
Just retired and want to get back to vinyl listening Congratulation! I too got back into higher end gear and vinyl a few years ago. I've had a number of integrated amps (luxman, accuphase, Hegel, pass, Plinius, and now vitus). I too like the "retro look". My luxman integrated from the early 80'...
ARC Ref 75 vs. Ref 75 SE Same problem? Didnt realize vinyl had a compression problem... Imagine that. I learn something new every day! And here I thought it had something to do with the larger electron plate in the KT150s...
ARC Ref 75 vs. Ref 75 SE Dweller. Take note, it was all done on vinyl. Same gear except for the amp, same album.... MQA is a digital thing, isn't it?
ARC Ref 75 vs. Ref 75 SE I generally don't add thing here, but I wanted to say that I just traded in my REF 110 for a REF 75SE. All I can say is that it more than exceeded my expectations. Truth is that I got it because I got a slamming good deal and I liked the fact t...
Speaker recommendation for married couple Sonus faber Cremona M Auditors are spkrs my wife liked if you want stand mounted monitors. We also got some YG acoustics Carmels for our family room that she really likes (yes, I'm a lucky man...).also, I'd agree that Vienna Acoustics might work...
VPI Scout Set up If you're not too familiar with turntable set ups, I'd suggest avoiding unipivot arms. And is you do get a scout (I have a special edition scout and have had a VPI classic as well) definitely get the soundsmith counter intuitive. Once you try t...
Where is the significant point of diminishing returns on hi-end turntable? It was maxell tapes, not memorex...I have a clearaudio innovation with an universal arm and an air tight cart. Lovely sounding. And above all, ultrasound cleaning is a must. Needs to be included in any table thinking
Why Are There So Many Audio Research Reference 5SE's For Sale Foolish,The outlines are extraordinary and the sense of scale unsurpassed by anything created with flawed human hands.
Accuphase E-202 and P-300 Pre/Power combo??? The P250 has basically the same amp section as a E202 so there is really no advantage to using the E202 as a pre-amp to drive a P250. The only advantage to the P300 is its greater power. But all in all, if you want Accuphase separates, get a C200 ... |
