Leave it on?
If you listen every day or so, leave everything on.  If you listen once a week or less, turn everything off. I also turn off everything delicate when thunder boomers are approaching.  I lost an amp once from lightning.
What do you do when you get a bad vinyl record pressing?
Years ago my wife started indiscriminately using some of my albums to make christmas gifts.  I wasn’t sure for a while if I married the right woman.
My New System
@cueball9  Congratulations!  🎈🎉🍾  I’m maybe there.  While I am mostly happy with my system,  the lack of local hifi shops and the abundance of new and improved products sometimes nags at me. For now, I have my forever sources, amps and speakers,...
How competitive are you with your system?
Everything I do with my love of music is for me. The guy who was the best man at my wedding happily still uses the receiver and speakers that we bought when we were in college.  My brother happily listens to his tunes through his phones speakers. ...
Jazz for aficionados
Listening to Joshua Redman, Words Fall Short album again.  Not once has the sound gone past 70dbs and that’s just perfect.
So, “Audio Science Review” really doesn’t like this video
@knownothing  Thanks for the validation.  With all the different ears and beliefs out there, I sometimes question whether I hear what I think I hear. 😀

@mahgister  Growing up, all I had was the radio and top 40 music. I’d sleep with it on and before long, I knew every tune, every word.  It wasn’t until the seventies that I was able to explore Jazz, Blues, Classical.  And my window into Jazz was ...

So they remastered Trio In Tokyo,  Michel Petrucciani, Steve Gadd & Anthony Jackson.(1999, 2025). And if you’re a fan of Petrucciani and piano trio’s, this one is a good listen.

Listening to Robert Glasper, Canvas. (2005) A lively well recorded album.
Bi amping with two different pairs of monoblocks
When mixing brands your answer is maybe.  Physical it’s possible, but you probably won’t get the synergy you’re looking for. The biggest obstacle is that every  company has a specific sound and finding two companies that sound the same isn’t going...
A principle guiding the wise audiophile life
Fortunately my wife knows how much I enjoy the music and how much research I do before I buy anything, so she has never said no to anything I’ve purchased. She also likes music playing and suggests I turn it on fairly often.  I guess I’m a lucky g...
Adding an extra 1ft to premium speaker cables
Before you mess up a premium quality set of cables, buy some Amazon brand 12 gauge speaker wire. A lot of people can’t hear the difference.
Whats playing on your system today?
