Phono preamp to amp question Thanks for the great info friends
Emotiva amplifiers review/experience? The people at the Rmaf for Emotiva were very nice as are their amps. They do sound fuller than many other amps I heard there
Phono preamp to amp question Is there something that says a phono stage preamp has to be hooked up to another preamp to produce decent sound. I was quite happy with the nad 352,minimax, and magnepans. It sounded great with no preamp besides the phonostage in the mix.
Phono preamp to amp question I could raise my volume on my nad 352 when it wasn't going through the nads preamp-( or) when it was going through the preamp. I preferred the sound from the eastern electric phonostage without running it through the preamp and only using the audi...
Phono preamp to amp question I will try to simplify this..I would like to have a tube amp integrated that has inputs to act just as a power amp, bypassing the integrated preamp entirely. I could just buy a tube power amp but would have no volume controls to raise /lower volum...
Phono preamp to amp question Tobias said" But if you have no volume control on your phono stage, why would you want to run it directly into the amp? Are you planning to throw blankets over the speakers when it gets too loud?"Tobias as I stated originally you can use an integr...
Phono preamp to amp question So the driver tubes on any power or integrated must always be running to receive the phonostages signal? Correct or incorrect statement?
Phono preamp to amp question I just want to try tubes but see no use in burning extra tubes when I have a phonostage that needs no additional preamplification. I am pretty sure that crosses out using tubes for my power/integrated amp. As Tobias said "There must be a few tube ...
nice box for tube storage -- where can I find one? I use Plano tackle boxes with the clear plastic. Makes them easy to see and keeps them protected.
An analog question for those who record I do play my records but when I have friends or family over I like just hitting play. I do plan on keeping them as I have way too much time invested in finding clean copies to even let one go!
What are some favorite NOS 12AX7s for phono? I would avoid the 1980s Russian "Rocket"Voshkods 12ax7's. They are usually quite microphonic in my experience. I have some Philips Miniwatts which are identical to the Bugleboys and sound good. I also have experimented with rectifier tubes and fou...
An analog question for those who record I really want to go reels but due to many setbacks that can occur with them I decided on a cassette player. Duaneadam I would love to hear your Manley Steelhead. I have the tubed Eastern Electric Minimax Phono and love it but that Manley Gear look...
An analog question for those who record Thanks for the responses
An analog question for those who record I will do some homework about what you said about the DACS Herman. This would require rebuying a computer as I no longer have the one I recorded and used Audacity on.
An analog question for those who record Everything about this hobby is costly!!I should have been clearer in the title. I don't really care about preserving my stuff onto vhs or reel to reel. Just making mixtapes of my favorite vinyl selections for personal listening while playing pool.... |
