What improvements did you hear in going from entry level to high end Audio?
Pipebro is that what the tapping sound is ? I always thought it was Stills tapping time on the body of his guitar. Not sure I would use that as a reference for a high end system, I can hear it on my samsung tablet and I'm over 60 with high freq he...
Popular DAC that is known for its warm-ish sound?
Cirrus Logic bought out Wolfson so I have no idea what their newer stuff in the last 3 or 4 years is like. Best to try and get a listen to as many as you can.

Laid back IMO is a warm relaxed sound not to forward. There is more to it than simply the dac as tomic601 points out  but over the years I have had a couple of pieces with wolfson and they seemed to have that similar sound.

I have been searching for speakers as well and have been able to find prices for the most part. The ones I have a hard time or never found the price fall into the "if you have to ask you can't afford it"  crowd. One way you might try neo is look f...

That's why I was curious as to why you  didn't use the usb on the P5. Since you have plans to upgrade the computer you could continue what you do and when you get a new computer try it with usb if it doesn't perform like you want then try a sepera...

Ah OK , I never tried the usb on my integrated amp I just stream through it's lan port. Thought it would have been easier to use the usb but I understand about trying to get old computers to play nice.

Just curious was there a reason you never connected the PC to the usb on the P5?
