Where to go next with the turntable
Thought I would throw in the Dr Feickert Volare as an upgrade.  I love mine!!!
2024 Audio System Wish List
@tksteingraber +1. Only mine is a phono Preamp ordered Jan 6 2022. We are close buddy!  At least part way up the first page!!  I’m told it’s worth the wait!
As An Experiment I Stuck A Few Things Under My Pre-Amp And Am Now On A Quest
Townshend all the way. A little pricey, but the improvements are evident. I have my turntable on the platform and speakers on the bars. Tightens the bass up and gives more detail and soundstage. My highs seem crisper and cymbals really sound accur...
Speakers 10 years old or older that can compete with todays best,
I’m still digging my 1978 Belle Klipsch. Yes, new tweeters and ALK Extreme Slope Crossovers. Technically not exactly the same speaker as new, but I love ‘em!
At what price is one considered an Audiophile.
There was a reason I never joined a fraternity in college, or joined a political party. I’m in it for my enjoyment. Don’t need the title or anyone to tell me how to get there.
How to prevent visitors from touching your system
@mahgister So happy you are back. I appreciate you.
Going back to headphone ?
@mahgister Welcome back!! Missed you! Glad you were able to excel on your previous incarnation. Which was also fabulous. Yes simplifying is freeing.
Advice for a new analog system
@allenf1963 +1. I might add these brands as some tables you may want to also consider: the Dr. Feickert Firebird / Deluxe 12 Package with the Tri-Planar U12 Tonearm; the AMG Viella 12; the TW-Acustic Raven; and finally, the Rega P10. I like your c...
End Game Turntable suggestions
I would take a hard look at Dr Feickert. The Woodpecker would fall in line with your budget with an inexpensive arm. Then you can upgrade the arm as you see fit. I landed on the Volare and am very happy.  My endgame is to swap out the current arm ...
What's your favorite $5-7000 turntable?
I would take a serious look at the Feickert Woodpecker. I have the little brother Volare and love it.  Rock solid tables. More of a classic look over the Kuzma table but either will get you there.
Powered speakers show audiophiles are confused
@kota1 +1 for Meyer Sound. I have had the great pleasure of taking their factory tour twice with great listening sessions. John Meyer is a genius. They make their own speaker cones from pulp that they grow in their own forests to control the quali...
Am I Getting Soft Here?
I love this thread. Back to the roots. Bigger/ more expensive isn’t better, better is better. @edcyn Well done!!
Time-Phase-Alignment- Point Source-Classical Musicians
Not sure if this is applicable or not, I seem to remember Decware making some single point speakers for fair money.
The character of analog and digital
@millercarbon +1 Happy to see you back. I have missed your input.
Butcherblock Acoustics "feet" effecting sound and isolation
+1 @townshend-audio  I use their isolation bars for my speakers with amazing results. I plan on getting more isolation from them soon. Simple and it works.
