That Other Audiophile Website
People that smoke have no clue how bad they or their house and possessions smell. My parents smoked, they're dead now.
Crossovers
+1 for Marchand. You might be able to hear the difference between a low cost crossover, but I personally cannot. DBX has always made good stuff. Once you bi or tri-amp, you will likely not go back to a passive crossover. Been multi-amping for 40+ ...

Simple Green works better than alcohol for cleaning the case. If you use alcohol, don’t use higher than 70% as I’ve had 91% damage plastic and paint in some cases. Never spray anything around your equipment. Don’t forget the transport tray. Once y...
Zu introduces Soul 6
Thanks for your review on the Zu Soul 6. I'm anxiously awaiting mine!
Best female vocal recording on CD?
Jewel
New Klipsch Jubilee, with active crossover.
At $36k, sign me up for a pair of JBL DD67000 for $75k.
Should I replace capacitors in an old but working amp?
It is time to replace the capacitors, especially if you intend on keeping it running. I'm a fan of don't fix it if it ain't broke, but in your case, definitely replace the caps. 105C caps or higher temperature.
Soundcraftsman amps anyone????
Soundcraftsman was decent back in the day, especially for the $$. I still have a PE2217 and PCR800 for the pool area. Fully recapped with 3.5 times the original capacitance values, big sound improvement.
What's in your CDP tonight? the minority report
Thanks for reminding me about Jerry Cantrell. I haven't listened to him/them in a long time.
What do audiophiles do in their cars?
At least a bi-amped system with electronic crossover. I have an older Sansui preamp with cassette and added CD changer and now digital inputs.
Rare NEC speakers?
I didn't know NEC made speakers. Thanks for the info. Are they any good and how big are they?
Solar Panel and Inverter Recent Audio Lessons Learned
While large single inverters might be efficient in the desert where you have the same light level to all panels, it does not work in the urban environment efficiently. The reason to have individual inverters for each panel is to maximize each pane...
Tweaks That plug in to speakers and ? Why they work
Oh geez, I'm financially challenged. Back to the OP, please!
Why do my bass drivers shake violently listening to vinyl
+1 erik, problem most likely subsonic 5Hz or so. Use a 24dB/octave filter, the steeper the slope the better.
Best Speaker Choice for my very "non-audio-friendly" Living Room
+1 for Ohm also. I would consider Zu Audio before Tekton for sure. Both can be demoed in your home and returned if you don't like.
