Selling gear with TMR Easy to work with, they take on ALL the hassle. Ultimately you need to decide what that is worth, realizing fees, shipping costs, headache factor etc etc. You can also consign through TMR as well. I’ve done both, super easy and overall have done ok.
Changing Tubes Tube rookie here, what is it when a tube goes “microphonic”?
recommended speaker cables and interconnects As mentioned, Transparent has a house sound that does run a bit through their line. They have good entry level cables all the way up to stratospheric. Shunyata doesn’t quite have the range of low to high, but they too have similarities in the line...
My First DIY Power Cable @mitch2 ding… I think you win the prize with your last sentence!! Are there variations in materials, use, signature etc? Sure. But, everyone thinks their opinion is the best. To their ears, probably is. It doesn’t really matter, it’s all a big pis...
Do you spend more time analyzing the sound of your system, worrying it could be better? No complaints here, but it’s always fun try new stuff…
Cartridge Loading.....Part II Ultimately it depends on your ears. There really isn’t a “right or wrong”. Personally, like others I have found 47k to be way to bright/harsh when tried. I have usually settled into more of a “loaded” sound than “unloaded” as I prefer the generall...

Best cable for record cleaner, ever Is this the cable with the flux capacitor upgrade? I’ve got it on several components and they transformed my system into the stratosphere! Highly recommend!
Power Cables and Wall Sockets @imaninatural regarding the outlets, look at light switches too. What I’ve done is started to do all the outlets in my house with commercial grade outlets and switches. The circuit that has my system was completed first. Now I’m in the process of ...
Power Cables and Wall Sockets If your light dim briefly at amp turn on, that's pretty normal. If your lights are dimming when using the amp your circuit is borderline overdrawn. You need to look at how extensive the line is, what other components are on it etc. A dedicated lin...
Move from Parasound A23 to A21/A21+ or Something Else? If you really want to change things up, see if you can find a Pass XA25. If you don’t require balanced inputs it’s a great little amp. Pure Class A. Of the Parasounds, I agree, the 21 is the way to go. The JC5 is great too, but it’s a bit of a mo...
Whats on your turntable tonight? Porcupine Tree: Stupid Dream
Hegel finally Roon Ready! Yippeeee :) !! Looks like the 390 and 590 are right around the corner as well!
New speaker cables Everything matters. What cables?
Class-A Amplification and 15 Amp Outlet Rare for TVs? Hair dryers pull serious wattage oddly enough. To the OP, if you are running the 150-200ish amps you will be fine, even up to 300/8ohms. If you jump to the very big boys a dedicated circuit would be the ticket. I think Pass recommend... |
