Whats on your turntable tonight?
Actually, last night: Mahler's 4th Symphony...especially, the 3rd & 4th movements. Columbia Masterworks series. Bernstein conducting the NY Philharmonic. Reri Grist is the soprano soloist. Don't think it is that great a recording from a sonic ...
Most achingly-beautiful music
I always liked her single, "7 (?) Year Ache". Not sure I have that quite right. For whatever reason, don't own anything by her...must add her to the list. Thanks for the reminder, Rabco.
Totem Forest or Acoustic Zen Adagio
I think Digsmithd is giving good advice. I own the Forests and like them very much. I wish i could check out the Zen Adiogos...on the other hand, I hear magic every night with the Forests. When first installed I was concerned about a lack of bass....

I have a book recommendation for you all.
Thanks for the suggestion.

I've been following this thread for some time and wanted to offer a few comments. My post is somewhat long but hopefully not too boring. It might even be useful to some following this thread.Low, ppm levels of phosphate can precipitate with calciu...
Cheapest system you could ever stand to listen to
Knownothing - I think you started a great thread. I didn't intend to imply any criticism of it. Finding under valued/over achieving bargain components is a wonderful thing. Worth trading stories about. My post was intended as "hyperbole" - to put ...
Recommend some SACD's?
I only own 2 at this point, Peter Gabriel's "Up" and Diana Krall's "The Girl in the Other Room". "Up" is pretty amazing, sonically.
Cheapest system you could ever stand to listen to
A transistor radio under the pillow back in the '60s. The Beatles and the British invasion were happening. It was all about the music. F the equipment. It's about the music.
