Anyone Seen a Feb 2022 Stereophile Issue?? Received mine a few days ago. Agree with 4krowme, fantastic article on cartridge set up.
Got a screw loose? I must of read the same post. I checked the 48 screws on my 3 year old Bryston A2's and most of them were loose. After tightening all of them up I do believe the sound was better.
Speaker Spike Philosophy WOW, this is very interesting. I assume all this is for very expensive systems. I've had many set ups for over 40 years. All in the under $10,000 range. I have just moved and my room is in the basement. Primary gear consists of a Hegel H390, Bryst...
I saved alot of money. mahler123, to add to reubent's comment, when you connect the Auris Bluetooth via the digital output you are bypassing the Auris's internal DAC. So my Hegel's internal DAC is doing the work.Thank you russ69 for you saying my NAD CD player is the we...
I saved alot of money. fuzztone, Evidently I sunk yours.
Better Integrated Amp? Jbmack75, my Hegel's display is dimmable. Fast or slow push on the remote only moves 1 decibel. The remote is made of metal and is the type you don't have aim at the amp. At 66 this is my fourth amp, previous ones were in the 1 to 2 thousand range...
Better Integrated Amp? Mikem: I agree with the importance volume control is. Names withheld, but I've had amps where the volume on the remote won't move when you hit the +, then goes up fast. Another problem is to see the volume knob if it only has a small white dot on ...
Does Age Matter? At 66 I still love a great sounding L P.Started streaming this last year. Now my 3000 CD collection is collecting dust. Not to mention the $40,000 that's gone. There are times I can get off the couch and play a CD since they usually sound better.H...
1st Album you Ever Owned? I remember like it was yesterday. 1967 at 13 years old. More of the Monkees. I didn't even have a turntable yet. Got caught playing it on my older sister's (20 years old) console. Got in big trouble as I wasn't suppose to touch it. Sure glad my mu...
Thinking about the good old days... dsper My first system was from Flanner & Hasoos in Mayfair Mall, Milwaukee in 1973. A Pioneer 939???, Thorens TD160 that as I got back into vinyl 2 years ago I took it into the shop for a $400.00 tune-up. More than I paid for it. A pair of Jen...
Thinking about the good old days... Hey Mike, I'm 65, my first LP purchased was More of the Monkey's. In all those years only my second wife from 86 to 2009 understood my connection to music. Only she could understand catching me with tears running down my face. It could either be j...
When to Poweroff amps and preamps I turn both my SS Pre & Amp off. If that is what you decide to do then this is what I found out here. Laughing Our Faces Off. This refers to the Amp, L & O = Last ONF & O = First OffThis made sense to me as my last system, Infinity Kap...
Another sad tale, hopefully Ian can make plans and peace with the world I didn't bother to read the post on Facebook a few days ago as I don't believe anything on social media. So sorry to hear and wish him all the luck in the world. I blame Tull for my addiction to ...
Expectations after re cap of power-amp Interesting post. Names of my components withheld due to persecution. I recently purchased new $8000.00 speakers. A well respected dealer in Milwaukee suggested that I replace my 20 plus year old Adcom GFA 555 II amp after heavy use powering my ol...
Trust Schiit Loki I also have one. Purchased it when I upgraded my old system. For 20 years I used a Yamaha eguilizer, you know the one with 20 slide bars. Never knew if I had it tuned in properly, drove me nuts. When upgrading and reading comments here I learned w... |
