New speaker cables recommendations sought Both. I think more so by the way you cook it, but if specs on capacitance and inductance get somewhat extreme, then that will certainly correlate more to the observed sound. However, for most cabling it is the way you “cook it” as you say.
Better CD Sound: The Search @charles1dad As you may remember, I did own the PWT before. I thought it had a very easeful sound that was supremely enjoyable. I bet the new transports, getting the rave reviews, offer improved resolution and such. However, I wonder if they offer...
Better CD Sound: The Search What’s important to me is really two things.1) Sound quality is paramount. I want to have as much realism as possible in my home system.2) Finding new artists I enjoy on an ongoing basis. I may need both streaming and CD spinning 😊. We will see b...
New speaker cables recommendations sought I see. You’re not interested in learning for yourself. I did more than read, I actually learned through hours and hours of actual experience. The good news is you can still enjoy music with the cables you happen to use! Have fun.
New speaker cables recommendations sought Well, I make cables all the time. All manner of cables. Some recipes sound warmer. Some sound more detailed. Some darker and some more brilliant. I can change the tone, openness, resolution and warmth by conductor material, connector brand, dielec...
Better CD Sound: The Search I love my streaming digital front end and have gone to great lengths and expense to have it sound as good as possible. However, I have several audio friends with ears and opinions I trust that say a great transport still sounds significantly bette...
Member Make Zero Sense Keep it coming tubebuffer! You are fast becoming my favorite Agon poster.
Amps In Wall Or Conditioner? No current starving on ANY amp I put on the Puritan. Puritan advertises the same thing. I have put a 400 watt class A/B amp on it. A 55 watt pure class A amp on it……you get the idea. Always sounded better than plugging into my upgraded audiophile ...
Amps In Wall Or Conditioner? Funny Charles! Most familiar with your conditioner as I had two upper end units over the years. My gear, system, and amps all sounded better through it. I remember the music taking on better weight and bass foundation as well as cleaner and smooth...
Circle Labs A200 Integrated amplifier review - It will appeal to both tube and SS lovers…… Understood. The Black Mamba is certainly highly regarded. I bet the combo is wonderful. Shunyata makes a line of great sounding power cords.
Circle Labs A200 Integrated amplifier review - It will appeal to both tube and SS lovers…… @whipsaw So happy for you! You are hearing what I hear and enjoy! What are you using for a power cord on your A200? I have the Nogami from Hijiri that Colin turned me onto. Oh boy, this cord mates perfectly with the A200.
Circle Labs A200 Integrated amplifier review - It will appeal to both tube and SS lovers…… @notmkid, Good for you! Looked up your speakers and they look most interesting. I also own Danish speakers - Dali Epicon. 6’s. I can confidently say the A200 is a very special sounding piece. Keep us updated.
Amps In Wall Or Conditioner? Understand completely. Folks love the Niagara. Tvad here liked it more than the Puritan 🙂. What’s most important is you just need to try for yourself. Trial period would be great!
Amps In Wall Or Conditioner? Depends on the power conditioner. I use a Puritan 156 and it does not limit current in any way. I tried going into my direct 20 amp line vs the Puritan. The Puritan sounded better. So it depends on the conditioner. The Puritan also has the optiona...
How long can a electrolytic capacitor last un-used? Agreed. They still dry out and will need replacing. Does it need it now? Perhaps not, but it will in next couple of years. If she is quiet with no buzzing or humming that is good. |
