Boulder 866 vs CODA CSiB
@yyzsantabarbara --thank you.  I wish that the Stereophile review gave more than a "read between the lines" comparison. What are your thoughts on the CODA CSiB vs Krell K-300i?

@eugene81--thank you. Very Helpful.
Replace stylus or new cartridge?
Thanks all. A new stylus it is. Especially since the Nagaoka price increase applies to styli as well.
Replace stylus or new cartridge?
@lewm--the 300 is what I am thinking of. Supposedly the same body as the 500 with a lesser (and less fussy) stylus.
SET Lovers, what's the one solid state amp you love(d)?
@atmasphere:  do you expect to see Class D amps that can drive a continously low impedance (e.g., 1 ohm) in the bass at high power?

I'm waiting to find the time to hear Gryphon.
How Do Amps Affect Soundstage?
In my admittedly limited experience, amplifier soundstaging is most affected by channel separation/crosstalk (hence, all else being equal mono blocks better than true dual mono better than stereo), sufficient real power (voltage and current), and ...
What speaker could safely be ordered without hearing it first?

Recommendations for against the wall high efficiency speakers
If we're going that way, then Snell A III.
I'm thinking about a low watt tube amplifier?
Some random thoughts: 1) Finale F6 is single ended. 2) Finale F6 is rated by manufacturer for 8 ohms only. 3) Most people have no idea what clipping sounds like. 4) Let's try to bring in an expert @atmasphere

Also, why of they have to be high efficiency? There are lots of high power amps for not much money that can give you dynamics.

Not efficient at all, but Gradient Revolution (the older the better for WAF) was made for this.
Audio-Technica VM750SH or Goldring 1042
Leaning toward AT VM750SH. Microline styli seem toomuch trouble and Nagaoka priced at a premium.
Audio-Technica VM750SH or Goldring 1042
Arm is AudioQuest PT-7. I think that is a PT-5 with better cable. Preamp is Audible Illusions Modulus 3 with MM section.
Original Quads (57) - the perfect amp
Weren't the old Leak and Radford amplifiers supposed to be good matches?
