Wanna take it to the next level? Buy MORE speakers!
I've listened to pretty much every configuration (5.1 through 13.4.4) and while it provides a cool effect it doesn't move me in the way that even a mediocre two channel system does. Movies? Sure - give me that immersive feeling with planes flying ...
Dealers of High End Equipment
So weird that audio shops are going out of business when customers demand massive discounts, especially to match an online warehouse with miniscule overheard compared to a traditional B&M store. Turns out the internet doesn't have a great list...
JBL's Marketing Blunder..
I watched the whole video but didn't notice any "woke" signaling. Is that just a catch all phrase for "I don't like it" now?
I want to buy new speakers for 50,000 and see it used for 30,000, what should I do?
And we wonder why so many dealers have gone out of business in the last decade. "I demand 20% off or I'm walking!"  "Buh-bye."
I want to buy new speakers for 50,000 and see it used for 30,000, what should I do?
I would buy the used speakers if and only if I could see/hear/touch them beforehand. I've never considered the fact that I have a wife unfortunate or unlucky. Guess it all comes down to choices, eh?
Best speaker brands for transient response
Another vote for ESL. It's (transients) what made me fall in love with the technology. Super fast. The only catch is a narrow sweet spot. "Head in a vice" is a bit hyperbolic, but they do sound best when in a 2-3 foot sweet spot.  The store in Gle...
I’m confused. Please explain.
I would guess I'm an outlier, but I actually don't enjoy most (in person) live music. Listening to other people who don't understand that when music plays, you shut your gob. The singing along by people who shouldn't sing. The phones held aloft f...
I can't remember the name of this Dealer / Company
Gingko Audio?
New Steely Dan Aja
I just listened to this all the way through this morning. This is probably my fifth time spinning it, and while I always go in with the thought that I will play a couple of tracks and move on to something else, the combination of sound quality (I'...
1 song you never get sick of?
I never get tired of "The Boys Are Back In Town" by Thin Lizzy.  same goes for "bright size life" from the album of the same name by Pat Metheny.
Songs this good don't come around every day.
she is so good, thanks for posting this. I needed a lift this morning.
A day in the life of an audiophile
I get unreasonably bent outta shape by the gas pump shill as well. It's always someone with a grating voice SHOUTING.
Shouldn’t Do This, but…
2psyop +1
Would you move to a bigger house if you could just to have a better listening room ?
naw, I like to listen in the same space all the rest of my life resides in. I don't want to sequester myself in a little acoustically padded cell.  I might be odd in that I consider music to be a social thing, while listening room seem decidedly ...
Want to add vinyl to my system.
be wary of anyone who tells you what you "must" spend in order to get good sound. I've seen some ridiculous claims to this effect and it's just not accurate.  Vinyl is a blast, I've never considered any of it work, and I have cleaned 2K+ albums wi...
