U2 Songs of Surrender
Here's a true story: When "Achtung Baby" was released, I was living in the first good apartment I'd ever lived in, with the first decent stereo system I'd ever assembled. I was working nights, at a newspaper, and I used to get up in the morning, h...
U2 Songs of Surrender
Played the whole thing through earlier, and loved it! Admittedly, I've been a true fan from the beginning -- yes, I'm old -- but I've not enjoyed everything they do. (Like "No Line on the Horizon," for example.) But these new recordings are absolu...
U2 Songs of Surrender
Just got mine a few little bits ago. I'll not likely be spinning the four discs until Monday, but I'm looking forward to hearing the whole thing. Forty songs!
Jethro Tull “Thick as a Brick” CD revisited
This is great to hear. I love when this sort of thing happens. Can I ask what your DAC and reclocker are?   Thanks.   --Howard
Good (great?) cartridges with user replaceable styli
Thanks for your considered responses, folks. Audiogoners are the best!

Oopsie. Forgot to mention that I currently use an Ortofon 2M Black on my P3. Figuring the LVB 250 would be a step up, as would the Planar 6 over the P3. there's nothing exactly wrong with my current setup, but, well, again, you know. If it ain't ...
What are your top 3 favorite female singers?
Joni. Joni. Joni. That's it.
Tom Petty and Hearbreakers Live at the Filmore 1997
Thanks for this. Going to order it now based on what you wrote. (Well, based on what you wrote and the fact that I've long loved Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, of course.) -- Howard
Generally speaking, are MC cartridges more delicate than MMs?
Thanks so much for your well-considered responses, which have provided me with much to think about. I'll likely be getting my retirement 'table in the spring, so I'll have some more time to think. Thanks, again.   -- Howard
BluSound Node and Node 2
My annoying suggestion: Get a Sonos Connect, add a reclocker -- I use a Wyred 4 Sound Remedy -- and you'll be in streaming heaven. The Sonos just works, period. And when it's hooked up to my Moon Audio DAC, coming out of the W4S, the sound is grea...

"... perform at levels commiserate with their cost..."  Commiserate. Hah! Great typo!

HT & Stereo System Fuel Shortage Coming According to Grid Operators
Perhaps it would also make sense to google Google's bias rating. Because Google has biases all its own, don't you know. In Western Massachusetts, where I live, and where most everyone is greener than a Saint Patrick's Day parade, if you ask most f...
Honest Experience on Effects of Subwoofer Please
I, too, added an SVS Micro 3000. I've got a pair of KEF LS 50s. Though it took me some time to get it dialed in -- had it set too high in both volume and frequency rolloff initially -- once I got it right, it was, well, just right. I don't even th...
King Crimson
I was in college, at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in the late 1970s, and had a bunch of friends who were way into progressive rock, so I knew, and loved, King Crimson from back in the day. Had the great good pleasure of seeing them on...
