Rec's for a dull sounding analog system Tobias - Sorry, the Monothic is the phono pre, I just did not note it as such. Yeah, I was thinking lingo/cirkus, but had reservations about upgrading a 70's lp12. Some folks talk about latter models being braced better and whatnot. I don't know h...

How is Wadia with fast dynamic music ? and true to the impact of the recording. I enjoy my 301.
Wadia 302 I have the 301. Great deck, very involving, exlint PRaT. No problems reading disks after 2.5 years. Built like a tank.
How much $ to "match" digital in my system? For one, your 101 does not have a phono section. You'll have to buy one. The Music Fidelity X-lps is about $400 big ones. A decent entry level TT will prob cost you $600 (Music Hall MMF5). Cables will cost $ also. I say save yourself the headaches...
Good power cord for Rotel? the general rule is to upgrade the source first. You should definately look at the new Tek Line Eclipse for your cdp. This was a big jump from the stock cord on my Wadia. The Eclipse is about $140, and Scott is a pleasure to deal with.
Good power cord for Rotel? Did you already do the source? That's the place to start.
Rega P25, would it sound better than my CDP? If you have a collection spend the money, if not upgrade the cdp/cdp power cord/cdp IC. You won't regret it. My LP12 matches my Wadia 301 in PRaT, but not in any other catagory. Still I'm going to upgrade my TT. Why you ask? Because I have about 7...
Linn LP12......That good?? the cost effectiveness of the upgrade itself. Genesis audio here in So Cal quoted $2418.00 for the Lingo/Cirkus upgrade installed. For that and a grand I have a new (not nescessarily better) VPI Scoutmaster w/upgraded arm. I've had no opp's of aud...
Linn LP12......That good?? I'm glad I saw this post. I can either upgrade my pre lingo/cirkus lp12 with lingo/cirkus or start looking for another TT, which will prob be a VPI Scoutmaster/sds. I like the general sound of the LP12, so I'm a little torn. Also, I can't upgrade ...
Less fatiquing After some auditioning Rotel, Bryston, Classe, MF, Parasound, at home, I purchased the Classe CAM-200 monoblocks. They were the best match for my Tannoy D700's. I had a few music bug friends over to help with the auditions. Not only was the Classe... |
