Playing with Cartirdge loading on my phono stage No. The reason the sound changes is due to distortion- LOMC cartridges and the tonearm cable together form an electrical resonance that generates Radio Frequency Interference which is injected directly into the phono section and can cause distort...
A rookie with 10K, seeking advise I'm new to the HiFi world. I listen to a lot of female vocal and classical music. I like both digital and vinyl. I am using a pair of Wharfedale Linton heritage and PS Audio Stellar Strata. How did you arrive at ^that^ set up? - purchased new ...
Is blasphemous Music ok? … at least (believe or not) that's one I haven't heard from anyone in person, so I'll give you that rook move. ;) @asvjerry there is not US equivalent to Aussie mateship… other than maybe with military veterans.
Make RIGHT channel quieter than LEFT channel HOWEVER I realized that when I rotate the potentiometer, the L channel changes a bit the sound too, not as much as R but it still gets its volume changed... How can I prevent this? How can I control R channel volume without affecting the L channe...
Playing with Cartirdge loading on my phono stage The manufacturers usually know their own products best. I always stick with their recommendation. You will not notice much when you play around. Which means that you can take some bigs steps. If they say 50-200 ohms, then you could try 40 or 50...
The thing about objectivists is... [Thanks god there are engineers designing and making hifi gear.] Philosophers are indispensable in marketing department, and accountants handling the books.

OK...here's another tweak that really works Interesting! Burn-in with noise is better than with music. Why? Is there scientific proof? It is like breaking in a brand-new vehicle with harsh rather than gental driving behavior. @lanx0003 http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm
Is blasphemous Music ok? … My surname seemed to be unpronounceable for the bulk of my existence, "Jerry Hu....Hey..." I'm here, Jerry is just fine...😏 Czech names are much in the same jaw wrench as Ukrainian surnames...so I'm happy with my given one. Anything but l...
Is blasphemous Music ok? Music taking on religion is much more easily tolerated than music taking on other topics, in my experience. Salman says that religion doesn’t like to be challenged. Even God himself found a woman that caught his eye a couple thousand years bac...
OK...here's another tweak that really works It’s fine to discuss the merits or lack thereof of any individual product, but why the character assassination? I suppose judgement fits need to construct human hierarchy pyramid with them on top +1 While I tend to agree with @jasonbourne52...
Does a DAC need a large/strong power supply? Thanks @adg101 !
Does a DAC need a large/strong power supply? The ones with wall warts can also have decent filtering built into them internally after the DC comes in. I think it is easy to put the whole enchilada into a big and heavy box and it gives the impression of quality. But how do we know that it’s ...
Does a DAC need a large/strong power supply? Large and strong cannot explain things well when the output voltage is 1V and the impedance requires <~1mA. That is <~ 1mW, so it must be something other than large/strong. I can abide better filtering, but that can be done pretty cheaply… ...
Are Expensive Balanced Interconnects Necessary? The best way to solve this, IMO, is to do what I did, which is buy the same exact cables, one set with balanced XLR and the other set with RCA (WBT RCA in my case) and test them back and forth in your system in your room with your ears Nice ans... |
