PSAudio Directstream DAC M-1 (refurb) vs Denafrips Venus II. Quick decision needed! Just to add: the Venus is the 12th Aniv. edition.
More potential bad news for some big names... There's not a lot of point to be made discussing what young people today are going to do with their money. Their seniors (you and me) grew up with terrible products and experienced a revelation when they almost accidentally found themselves in a ...
Bose buys McIntosh Bose wanted into the ups ale market. Why spend and spend over years to develop that segment when you can just buy it? How they manage/interfere with the acquisition will have to be seen. Mac has an excellent marketing base that would best not be m...
Borresen X3 measurements The thing about Erin's review, for me, was that he claimed to hear this midrange "hole" in the sound before measuring and then backed up what he percepted by talking to others. I've felt that a lot of his other reviews were way over-measured to t...
Macintosh MA352 vs PrimaLuna 300 EVO Hybrid I get the feeling you're talking about integrateds (or hybrids) in general. Other suggestions is why I posted this thing.
Macintosh MA352 vs PrimaLuna 300 EVO Hybrid @yakbob, cannot thank you enough. Amazing diagram on the owner's manual, even showing inter-feet distance (no one does that). In a later section of the manual, the depth is given as 20 1/2 inches, with cabling! My rack is a separate heavy bookca...
Macintosh MA352 vs PrimaLuna 300 EVO Hybrid I haven't seen a review like that but you make sense. Problem is, I've got a 15 1/2 shelf and the Mac is 20 inches deep. Their smaller 252 would fit but I don't think it would be much of an up move from my PS Audio Spectral hybrid.

Macintosh MA352 vs PrimaLuna 300 EVO Hybrid I'm only interested in what they sound like. I know Dick Olsher likes the PrimaLuna but there are not many reviews of the MA352. There's also the MA252 though I have some write-ups comparing the two Macs and noting a significant difference betwe...
Macintosh MA352 vs PrimaLuna 300 EVO Hybrid PrimLuna's website sure doesn't say anything about China. Lots of stuff about point-to-point wiring and Swiss-made wire plus the Dutch company and the European designers. Not to say that Chinese construction can't be excellent....I have a Jay's ...
Pop album that has stood the test of time Nothing to complain about here.
Pop album that has stood the test of time I went back and can see most of you folks apparently stop at the 80's. Makes me laugh.
Pop album that has stood the test of time Many of those old, especially pre-digital, albums are infinitely better recorded than what is usually available today, and this trend goes back into the 50's, as most of you would know from the latest high-priced re-releases. Don't, however, forg...
Drinking Songs playlest... What am I missing? I'm surprised how milk-toast a bunch of these are. Have you never heard of Jerry Jeff Walker, whose goal was to be "passed out on stage"? Maybe we should be looking for audiophile versions.....
Does Anyone Know the History of the Early Sota Turntables? Had a Star Sapphire in the late 80's, with the sapphire bearing and aluminum platter. Swapped out Sumiko arm for Eminent Technology straight-line tracker and that made a dramatic difference. Light weight tonearm probably a good bet. l spoke with ... |
