How Did Your First Audiophile Experience Impact Your Audio Journey?
By 1976 I had my first good corporate job at a publishing company. I had funds to spend on my first high end system: AGI 511 preamp, GAS Son of Ampzilla, Empire 698 TT/Dynavector 20B homc cartridge and Infinity Monitor 1A speakers (Walsh tweeters)...
How Did Your First Audiophile Experience Impact Your Audio Journey?
Summer of 1970. I was 18 and had just graduated from high school. A friend from school (John) asked me to bring some LSD so several of us could trip. His family had a college student (Todd) staying over for the summer doing indoor painting. So we ...

If anything that era of Bryston amps are known for being excessively bright and zingy on top! I have a 3B which is indeed too zingy! A modern Class D would be a better choice for the Dynaudio's.

Speakers are the major factor in sound quality. The Dynaudio's are only two-way stand-mount boxes with all the inherent limitations of such designs (bass extension/power handling). Large floor- standers like Revel's  and Devore's will give you muc...

Alas, wire is not a tone control! Contrary to what the wire fanatics claim! I bought my first high end system in 1977 so I speak from experience. I have bought and tried plenty of wire since then. None of it mattered, regardless of price! Your Lin...
What now?
A secondhand pair of Vandersteen 2's. Older versions are fine! They are still a classic design and are eminently faithful to the music.
Only two tracks to test your system, forever!
The last two movements of the Saint Saens Symphony 3 - Charles Munch/BSO RCA Living Stereo CD. A great test of dynamic range/bass power!
Question to those believing in speaker break in
Yes, face-to-face reverse polarity will work - but what fun is that! I'd rather set them up normally and enjoy some music!
Question to those believing in speaker break in
@erik_squires +1 - if you stream then select an Internet radio station and let it play 24/7 at moderate volume. Several days should be enough. Me, I'd just do my regular music listening. No need to be neurotic about break in!
Anyone else gotten SPAM pop ups the last couple of days?
Yes, they started several days ago on my android phone. Fake Google and Kyocera "take a quiz and win a prize" phishing for bank card info.
Zavfino OCC SILVER DART 1.5 power cable
Another person falls under the delusional spell of the power cord believers! "It is easier to con someone than to convince them that they have been conned" - Mark Twain.
Will this stuff ruin my records?
Dawn (or any dishwasher liquid) added to distilled water is your friend! Followed of course by a distilled water rinse. No need to add surfactants! Those are already present in dishwasher liquids. I have safely cleaned over a thousand LP's this way!

Class G is not new! It has been around since the late 70's. Soundcraftsman I believe  was the first to market this design.
