B&W 803 vs Byston Model T I have heard bryston model t as I helped my friend set his up... It's ok.
Latest Absolute Sound I enjoy read TAS and Stereophile, it keeps me in the loop as to what's hot and what's not. Whether I buy that product or even consider it is up to me. Regarding certain amps at a high price range, there are always buyers. I wish there were more ...

B&W 'New' 800 Series I compared the 802D2 vs 803D3 head to head on full mcintosh system. Neither had the upper hand in terms of physical positioning in the room. I thought the new D3 series was better overall, possibly 25% better per my Dad who was in the room with me...
Wilson Sophia 3 vs Sabrina I do not find Sabrina's enjoyable. I find them muted. Sophia 3 are overall better to my ears.
Tweeter placement Depends on how the speaker is designed.
Rockport Avior or Magico S5 Ah so Phil you are the Cygnus owner... Hahaha!!Congrats man!

Rockport Avior or Magico S5 Audio research upstreams.
Vandersteen 5a Carbons Heard the Vandy 5C during his tour, it was pretty good, but it was not the end all for me at that price point. I can see why some people might like them but for me, at least, it was good but not at the top of my list.
Rockport Avior or Magico S5 Don't agree with CTsooner regarding the Vandy 5CA. Heard them, didn't do much for me, even had Richard Vandersteen there. Sounded good, but still didn't sound real to me. Heard the Aviors that Phil was talking about - my dealer told me about some ...
Final Speaker Decision: TAD R1 vs SF Strad Sorry guys, didn't respond for a while. The TAD Ref 1 were powered by some top shelf pass lab amps... the XS 300. The preamp, I forgot. The source, I also forgot, but I can assume that they were all top shelf. I passed on the Ref1. They sold for a...
Final Speaker Decision: TAD R1 vs SF Strad Yep, heard the Ref1 twice in very good conditions. I even had teh dealer move them to sort of mimic my room - moved to 8.5 feet tweeter/tweeter and 11 feet tweeter/ear. Sounded lovely and recreated stage well. My only problem is that I had no goos... |
