Takedown of pricey servers, streamers OCD HiFi guy @hilde45 OPI can so agree with what you say - and how you phrase it. I wish I had your command of the English language in making your point, 10/10!No warble, no waffle and put so succinctly - that - is a gift! 😊 Michélle 🇿🇦

Is going from a Ortofon Candenza Black to a Ortofon Winfield a lateral move? Wow, ok - now im beat, in more than one way. BTW, in Raul’s cartridge ratings I’d have given this one a kindly 60—61.He never rated that one either. Why? 🤔 I’m still baffled why my Cadenza Black sounds ’more normal’ than this super duper original ...
Is going from a Ortofon Candenza Black to a Ortofon Winfield a lateral move? Well, I am a bit confused now, about the original Peer Windfeld's stylus... to say the least. I'm going back with this purchase well past 10 years, and unfortunately have not bothered to keep a documented spec. Looking at the presently posted spec...
What is it in MM that can give me goose-bumps? 🤔 Burmester 961 bass reflex port is in rear of the speaker, 20" off the ground, also not straight but curved, about 30° down inside the speaker and covered with 3mm damping felt layer around outer-side (inside the speaker enclosure). Side firing 8" ...
What is it in MM that can give me goose-bumps? 🤔 As for preferred instruments I much like solo cello and violincello passages and it maybe just also the MM bass performance that tickles my spine (and fancy). @rauliruegas That 'box' you noted behind the right hand speaker is the side wall of a qu...
What is it in MM that can give me goose-bumps? 🤔 Thanks for all new thoughtful responses. I can relate to the differences I hear, mostly to do with 'higher naturalness' of timbre. Meaning MMs appears more matched to my hearing (timbre-memory of natural instruments) then even very good CD/LOMC. M...
What is it in MM that can give me goose-bumps? 🤔 Thanks for all the various feedback(s).Haemorrhoids from listening to MM cartridge(s), eh?!? 🤔Well, listening to my CD playback right now, I could get mixed up, sound wise, with listening to my Cadenza Black. Meaning also, if you fancy CD per se, ...
Is going from a Ortofon Candenza Black to a Ortofon Winfield a lateral move? Sorry a small error occurred. The phono board setting by using my 1:20 SUT is of course set at 40db (and 49k ohm) as is common for most MM Cartridge, and zero added capacitance loading + the added 6db from the ML 326S pre amp. Is going from a Ortofon Candenza Black to a Ortofon Winfield a lateral move? I had originally a new Ortofon Jubilee and had issues with a slighly skew cantilever, which made me, upon its accepted replacement, move 'up' to the then original new PW, the one we seem to be talking about here, eh? 😉 I NEVER managed to warm up t...
what are some of best tonearms you own or experience with. Only one best: SME V... after some others not so best, really. If you can live with non-detachable head-shell(s) ?!? 🤔Michélle 🇿🇦

What is it in MM that can give me goose-bumps? 🤔 @lohanimalYes, I hear you. I’m right now running my Empire S1000 ZE/X-ERD, .2 x .7 mil original stylus. Sounds like you point out, also when compared to my 2 Ortfon MCs (Cadenza Black and Quintet S Black). But my OP was really about WHAT IT WAS ex... |
