New speakers and guidance
Congrats on retiring and rewarding yourself. That sounds fantastic!
Wilson Sabrinas, electronics and Subs
The Wilson/Rel dealer where I bought my main system and who displays Wilson Alexx and full Rel lineup told me even Alexx benefits by having Rel added. Subtle but definitely benefits. So, yes.
Who buy PS AUDIO ?
I haven’t purchased any PSA components yet, save for a few noise harvesters, but I am becoming a fan of the brand. In particular, the forums there are really outstanding in terms of the collegiality and helpfulness on offer. And the CEO is a regul...
What's your process for comparing new gear, cables, etc.?
hilde45 - I haven't really looked for them used, sorry, not much help.  I actually got mine new from a dealer just two months ago, at a substantial discount from msrp.  I haven't used it yet because it goes into system 2 that I'm acquiring now, de...
KEF Reference 5 vs. B&W 802 D3 speakers - which one better? your knowledges & opinions
Now that you mention that, I think when I heard the Kef Ref 5 vs the B&W that the Kef's were mentioned as having recently arrived at the dealer (like a week ago), and so were probably not fully broken in when I heard them.
TEAC NT-505 impossible connecting to WiFi router o such LAN: help me please?
No, sorry, no experience with Roon.I saw on another NT-505 thread that a chap got the Teac CG-10M 10MHz external clock to add to the NT-505 and reported that it made it better than an Auralic Vega G1. I don’t know if I can justify the added cost t...
Discussion of Class D Amps Application & Experiences
OP, be forewarned that class D illicits IMO the strongest views from proponents and opponents of nearly any topic in audio (maybe cables are exception but maybe not - it’s close). There doesn’t seem to be a lot of middle ground - just read the lon...
What's your process for comparing new gear, cables, etc.?
Cool, douglas, thanks for the props!I’m looking forward to it in a geeky kind of way. Obviously I’m using pretty low budget stuff here with my three alternate cable sets, but it’ll still be useful in evaluating some potential quality differences o...
KEF Reference 5 vs. B&W 802 D3 speakers - which one better? your knowledges & opinions
I somewhat casually listened to a head-to-head of these two speakers about 18 months ago. I believe the electronics were Anthem separates. Unfortunately, I don’t have a good recollection of the demo, except that I wasn’t floored by either speaker ...

Good to hear that Teac was quick to replace the problem units!
What's your process for comparing new gear, cables, etc.?
I’ll bite, and I’ll share what I’m planning to do over next couple of months.I’m waiting to take delivery from local dealer on streamer/dac that will complete a new second system, which I have yet to assemble. All of the components (speakers, powe...
Jazz for someone who doesn't like jazz.
If you only listen to one jazz tune, and you wish to be converted, make it "Mister Magic," by Grover Washington Jr. It’s about 9 minutes long.It is possibly my overall favorite track, definitely favorite instrumental. Listen to the studio album ve...
All-in-one: $1k Marantz or $2k Hegel?
If you can run Ethernet to it than probably no need for WiFi because you’ll get better stream performance with Ethernet, right?  Assuming h90 can do streaming right over Ethernet without needing another device to be involved- that’s what I could n...
All-in-one: $1k Marantz or $2k Hegel?
Wow. Sorry I am no help because I never had chance to do an A/B comparison between the two because the dealership where I was planning to do so has been temporarily closed due to virus for couple months. I eventually just went with the 7000n becau...
The System Percentages Thread
Sweet! But make sure to double check your addition, even if that adds a very long time to complete your list.
