Question about Snell B with amps and preamps The Snell B, not B Minor. Thanks.
Sumo 9 and B&K EX442 Danosol,The post under Amps & Preamps which has the link to the chart listing the specs for all the older models is titled "B&K St-202 vs St0202+ plus". If you scroll back 2-3 pages you'll see it.
Sumo 9 and B&K EX442 Danosol,Sorry, but I don't know the difference between the two models. Someone recently posted a link under this Amps & Preamps forum to a .pdf file on the B&K amps. If you can find the post, you'll be able to see all the older models. The...
Sumo 9 and B&K EX442 I have an EX-442, which I use with a BAT VK-31 preamp and inefficient, 9-driver speakers from Fulton. The combination is warm and comes close to what I heard using the same equipment with a pair of Aleph 2s. I paid $450 for the EX-442 on Audiogon,...
Upgrade suggestions from BAT VK-300xSE I went from a 300X to the VK-31 preamp and VK-200 amp, then the VK-500 amp, and heard significant improvements across the board with my demanding speakers, especially in the bass. (The power supply in the 300X and 300Xse is limited by the amount o...
Do tube pre-amps need bias adjustments? I was surprised to discover that my BAT VK-31 preamp does have bias adjustments. When I sent it back to the company to be upgraded, I was told that the technician biased it for the NOS tubes I had installed in it.
Seeking help with an amp problem Bdgregory,Thanks. I called B&K. They offer just a conventional repair of $65/hr. plus parts. I've sent it in.
VK-31 or other BAT preamp upgrade Hello again,John has it exactly right. I would like to hear from anyone who has tried the Super-Pak or Six-Pak upgrades to the VK-31 or any other recent BAT preamp that uses the 6922 tube. I don't like the sound of the 6H30, so it doesn't help me ...
nad 3020 vs advent 300 Just a minor correction to Armstrod's post. I have Advent 300 literature and it doesn't mention a Schotz tuner. This was a feature of Nakamichi receivers, not Advents.
Von Schweikert VR-1 question I owned a pair of VR-1s for several months and switched back and forth with a pair of Boston Acoustics A40s (one step down from the A60 in their line at the time) using a Rega Mira integrated to listen to classical music webstreams via a Squeezebo...
REGA, Still in Business? I find Lazarus28's reply to be mildly absurd, and I couldn't agree more with Jeffjarvis. I have a technical question about a Rega product, and it would be a complete waste of my time to attempt to get a distributor to answer it. I was so desperate...
Recording Streaming Music I use Total Recorder software but this requires that the streaming be through a computer as opposed, for example, through Squeezebox.
Cary CD308 Display I've had a 308T for two years and it's never flickered or pulsed whatsoever, not even up close. I can't believe that anyone at Cary thinks such behavior would be normal.
BAT 300x 6922 vs Super tube I'd say that the Supertube version had perhaps a bit more detail and air than the 6922 with either Sovteks or Telefunkens, but the midrange richness was noticeably absent, and this was what made me devoted to tubes in the first place. I didn't not...
BAT 300x 6922 vs Super tube I have a 300X. It was originally a Supertube version, which I just had BAT change to the 6922 version. I prefer the 6922 sound, especially with Telefunkens, which Steve Bedarski of BAT suggested, to the Supertube sound; I even preferred the stock ... |
