Which subwoofer?
Having run at least 10 different subs with my ML Summits I can safely say that the only subs I ever found to be fast and accurate enough for those speakers is the SVS SB 1000 in stereo. Don't waste your time and money on the rest of it I've alread...
Considering a POSSIBLE replacement for speakers. Opinions?
IMHO, after chasing that perfect sound for 3 decades now, I have found a brand that seems very forgiving no matter that amp/ pre amp. Sonus Faber.

We're the speakers in the original factory boxes with all the original packaging?
Adding a sub woofer?
Having spent north of $50k on dedicated bass units over the years I wish I had this advice. There is a brand that is far and beyond the best I've owned and best of all, no where near the most expensive. Buy two SVS subs and be done with your bass ...
In search for speakers of "natural" sound
Went from Harbeth to Zu Audio and never regretted it. Zu brings the X factor I bet you are searching for. I run Zu Omen Def with Bryston amps and pre. Very good combination imho.
Subwoofer Decision
I've had many different subs through the years----damn I've spent a LOT of money of them too. All I can SVS SB-4000. I run two of them and really could not be happier. Check them out, you won't be sorry you did.
speakers with balls
I think my Zu Omen Defs rip the paint off the walls. I'm pushing them with Bryston amps and pre. Possible that the power is the issue?
