help focal 726v to 836v? On paper the cabinets and configuration appear to be virtually identical leaving the driver material as the most significant difference. As much as I enjoyed listening to the flagship Aria I don't think it was significantly better than the Chorus ...
help focal 726v to 836v? I have heard the top Aria locally and I don't think they are significantly superior to the Chorus 800 series. There are some excellent deals on the discontinued speakers making them a much high value in my opinion.
help focal 726v to 836v? I would anticipate your integrated sounding great with it. I have an Integra 50.1 receiver that sounds great and a Yaqin MC-30L integrated tube amplifier rated at 50 wpc in ultralinear mode that sounds fantastic.
help focal 726v to 836v? I own the 836v and have only heard a 726v once; however, I think you will find it to be a substantial upgrade. The 800 series have better cabinets and lower frequency extension due to the bottom port. Plus, I think the true 3-way design is superio...
New platinum eclipse 7 really better than previos Why would you purchase newer cables without expecting an improvement? New and/or different models is the only way to stay in business so it isn't necessarily expected that every new model result in a sonically better product.
Pro Audio Speaker Wire Fail - Story/Question I think the success of the recent changes became obvious today. Special music was a duet with a singer and acoustic guitar. Had I been running the board I would have brought the volume on the guitar up a bit, but it sounded so clean I didn't think...
Chinese integrated for around $1k If I were forced to choose, I would get the Dussun V6i. My primary reason would be the 150 watt at 8 ohm / 300 watt at 4 ohm rating. If the specs are accurate this is a high current amplifier. That is the same power rating as the Krell S-300i. Don...
Need Advice - new system I am a Focal guy and love my 836v speakers and almost got the 816v. I also do home theater and stereo in the same room. I personally would get a stereo integrated with a home theater bypass to power the mains so you can hook you stereo sources dir...
two way v. three way speakers @Maxboy00 - I wasn't intending to imply that we were not in agreement. Sometimes forums, like emails and texting, cause a failure to communicate. We need a more resolving forum, right?
two way v. three way speakers @Maxboy00 - Because you can't afford both! Obviously, there has to be some balance, but I like knowing that my speakers are limited by the rest of my system than the other way around. Just my budget compromise preference.
Do Jumpers make an audible difference? @audiolabrynth - I still say no way anyone can hear a difference using mass produced Monster Cable in 1 foot increments. Your theory of signal degradation is sound but the question is if it is enough to be audible. Using this theory shorter is alw...
Are older series speaker cables a bad investment?? Marketing and sales is the biggest factor in new models and lines.
Do Jumpers make an audible difference? I think anyone claiming to hear a difference between cables that are 1foot different in length, but otherwise identical, is fooling themselves. There are scientific reasons for shorter cables being better in most cases, but 1 foot isn't enough to ...
two way v. three way speakers My opinion is that if you like the way a speaker sounds you will most likely enjoy it in almost every setting, but the amplification makes a huge difference. I have been more impressed with a pair of Focal 807v speakers powered by a Pathos amplifi...
Do Jumpers make an audible difference? Try using some junk jumpers for a downward comparison to see how much of a difference may be possible. Better yet, have someone else put only one, or not, in and see if you can identify it. |
