pwr conditioner - vans evers unlimiter Has anyone compared them, or at least experienced them both?
Power Strip vs. Line Conditioner I agree whole-heartedly with Mezmo, it all depends on what your electrical situation is. I live in NYC, too. The first block to ever have electricity is in NYC. Once wiring is in place, there has to be a really good reason to spend the money requi...
Balanced Grounding Pins email Krell, they may send you some.
Best Small Speaker NOT B&W's 805N? If you want a beautiful speaker that sounds great, try anything Sonus Faber. Or a Dynaaudio with an exotic wood.
Sonus Faber Extremas with Krell FPB 600? I own a pair of Extremas and use a Krell. It sounds great. If your room is big or you like music loud, you need 200 watts per channel. If your room is small and you don't listen to loud music, you can get away with 100 watts per channel. Loud, low...
Cheap bi-wiring? DH Labs has two cables that can be internally bi-wired: (A) the (14 gauge) T-14 (B) the (10-gauge) Q-10. Each has four wires separately insulated within the cable that can be used to complete the circuit on either one or two sets of binding posts....
THE BEST SMALL SPEAKERS The Sonus Fabers are nice. I own a pair of Extremas, although the line has been discontinued. The Totem Mani 2 is in the same class. Many people rave about the JM Labs Micro Utopia. The Dynaudio Confidence 3 (or the more budget minded Contour 1.3 ...
Amps for Dynaudio ? I have a 100 watt-per-channel Krell KAV-500 (5-channel) driving two pairs of speakers: (A) Dynaudio Confidence 3 (B) Sonus Faber Extremas. The room is not too big, (13' x 18', 12' ceiling) and I don't really listen to blaring music. I think it all...
Who R U? Nice to meet all of you. I'm audiogon member msw26, a 43-year-old, single guy with no children living "uptown" in NYC with over 1600 CDs. I work in the computer field for a brokerage firm on the weekends and am pursuing an M.A. in statistical soci...
Cables for Sons Faber GUARNERI I have a pair of Sonus Faber Extremas which do very well with DH Labs Q-10. The DH Labs cables are all internally bi-wirable, too, in case you'd like to make use of all those binding posts on the back. (Note: Many people claim there is nothing to ...
Long interconnects or speaker cables? This is especially true if you can use balanced (XLR) interconnects. Knowing where I'd like to place my speakers and what speaker cable lengths this would require, I chose my equipment because it could accommodate long (XLR) interconnects and allo...
DH Labs as the next step? I have my entire system wired with DH Labs Q-10s and Air Matrix interconnects. I am very pleased. Has anyone tried Analysis Plus 'oval' cables? People rave about them also. I think they are a little more money, but has anyone listened to the same ...
Analysis Plus Cables? I wired my entire system (Krell Amp, Pass Labs X-0, 2 sets of speakers: Dynaudio Confidence 3s & Sonus Faber Extremas) with DH Labs Q-10s & Air Matrix interconnects. They sound great. Would Analysis Plus sound better? I have no idea. I thi...
Pass Labs X-1, X-2, X-0 I own an X-0. I'm very pleased with it's sound, although its operation is a bit quirky. I haven't compared it (over time using the same speakers, cables, amplifier, etc.) with other preamplifiers, but who really has?
Best Bookshelf Speakers Go with the PSB Alphas mentioned above. Incredible for the money and you can drive them with a smaller reciever, unlike these others. |
