Sneaky Pete Is Gone - R.I.P.
His contribution to the sound of the "Flying Burrito Bros"cannot be over-estimated, and the F.B.B. laid the foundation (w. the possible exception of the Byrds "Sweetheart of the Rodeo")for country rock. Period. Gram Parsons, Chris Hillman, Pete Kl...
Anybody play any musical instruments...........
I've been playing bass guitar for over 35 years with a break in the early 80's when I quit a latin rock band and totally dove into the Punk/New Wave trend, and hacked away on guitar and drums for about 5 years. The refreshing do-it-yourself attitu...
Has anyone heard the Rolling Stone Remastered LP'S
They are excellent with noticeable improvements, and you can get them for about $14 at BestBuy (I have no stake in this chain), as compared to $20 elsewhere.

I'd like to add to Herman's comment there's also allmusic.com which gives you the opportunity to listen to parts of songs right there in the privacy of your home before committing to buy.As far as mandatory retirement goes, in a free market econom...
Have U ever bought an LP because of the cover art?
"Lines" by Charlie from the 70's at Goodwill. I don't know how that ever got past the sensors. The lady on the cover is holding a Bic pen tube, there's a small mirror nearby, etc., yet she doesn't fit the profile of a coke-head, if you know what I...
Favorite Movie Soundtrack
"La Dolce Vita", "Amacord" by Nino Rota.

Wc65mustang, Nothing to be ashamed of, IMO. I play bass in a 60's band called "Moondawgs" which gets hired for a lot of classic cars related functions in So. Cal. Our repertoire includes "Deadman's Curve", "Summer Means Fun", "Surf City", and "Dra...

What's your dirty little secret?
How about Ray Conniff, Bert Kaempfert, the Four Freshmen and the Three Suns? I've been known to mix them in with Throbbing Gristle, the Residents, Gang of Four, X, etc. on compilation cassettes. They're like my own demented music programs, yet I e...

Landshark75,Thank you for this valuable information. I'll definitely check it out. BTW, we have the Sharper Image air cleaner and do not like it. It actually spreads an unpleasant tinny odor and is not noiseless. I always wondered what the brouhah...
LPs and allergies, anyone?
Thank you for your responses. My wife actually supports and enjoys my music collection, and it was solely my decision to move it. She'd seen an allergist in the past, and had no real problems for 12 years. Living in San Diego, we had unusually heav...
