Kool and the Gang I did cool to their early days before they declined and melted away and became lukewarm. Their second peak was in the 80s and for me they went from lukewarm back into cool again.

@nutty “Naim recommends …. 24/7” Nothing against Naim (their sales slogan, “You are nothing without a Naim” was however pure nonsense) but manufacturers will swing or exploit anything to sell their products. Market perception is easily tweaked. ...

Best way to dampen a micro-vibrating Printed Circuit Board inside an amp? Thanks!
”What is a recommended way(s) to dampen” discussion question @kennyc  “Apply water;-“ Yes, some of us had a few laughs along the way with this discussion, but “we have (all) passed a lot of water since then”. Goldwynism

How competitive are you with your system?
@mahgister  “l prefer to brag about knowledge…” ”Bragging about his system is most of the times bragging about his bank account”   It’s always easy to beat an ignorant person with your 🧠 rather than with your 🤜 ‘s

@moonwatcher  Canadian tariffs.    l think you put an extra 0 on the 25% import tax on some American goods. In England we often chuckle at the misinformation coming out. Mention it often enough and gullible people believe it. A bit like the old...

@au_lait “…. the heat but also the electrical bill”. As @vair68robert said previously in the earlier days of this discussion….. A single amplifier at the national average KWh rate, consuming just 85w powered on amounts to $166 a year.   Your Al...

@russwill “My amplifier does not have a standby mode. If it did l would use it” Obviously my last post is irrelevant if equipment is plugged in and left on forever, but as you say, having more user options are plus points.

@au_lait ”My cello preamp has no switch” In the UK we have switches on our 13amp sockets as a British Electrical Standard, so it’s not a problem isolating your preamp if over here. I know the US has 110v with normally no switches at the plug for ...
