nuforce Ref 9 SE V3 vs wyred 4 sound STI 1000
Thanks. I was hoping to try the new Shunyata Anaconda CX on the C500, mostly out of curiosity. But you may be right about the C500 being not so PC sensitive and best to leave the Lessloss alone and look to spend the money elsewhere. When you get a...
nuforce Ref 9 SE V3 vs wyred 4 sound STI 1000
Hi Inpieces. Did you notice if the C500 is sensitive to PCs? When I upgraded my amp from a Plinius integrated to the C500 I just continued using the "Lessloss" PC that fed the amp without bothering to explore other PCs.
Plinius Int 9200 or McIntosh 6600 for Dynaudio C1
I used to drive my C1 with a Plinius 9200 and Accuphase CDP. It was decent synergy, but not exactly great. The C1 has a touch of darkish, warm sonic character. When paired with a warmish amp like the 9200 may push it to the edge, and you'll end up...
Dynaudio C-1 or Harbeth-7-es-III
I own the C1 and have heard the 7ES and ES2 though on different but similar systems. They are voiced quite differently so it is not a direct compare, but from strictly a fidelity standpoint, I think the C1 performs at least a couple level above th...
Plinius 8200 vs. 9100 -Which one?
I had the 9200 since it was introduced in 2003, sonically my impression (and some others) is that the 9100 is similar in competency. The 9200 was significantly superior to the 8200Mk1 I used to own, so i'm guessing the 9100 will be a solid step up...
Best Match for Dynaudio Contour S3.4?
I used the 9200 for some years with a Contour 1.3SE, and then with a C1, until I changed to Rowland. I can understand the comment that Dyn amps may sound lacking in life with some speakers, but I can tell you for sure that the M8-SA102 sounds live...
Best Match for Dynaudio Contour S3.4?
I have used the Plinius-Dyn pair for many years, currently still have a 9200 in a 2nd system. I have heard in many occasions the 9200 vs an M8-SA102 on same system, same music. If you were happy with the 9200, you will be elated with the separates...
Accuphase E450 vs Pass INT150
If you can find a Jeff Rowland dealer and get a good price you may want to consider their integrateds. I have both the 9200 (owned for many years) and the JR C500. The 9200 w/c I use on a 2nd system is all-around excellent, but it is far, far bett...
cdp hunt/ compared to accuphase dp75
I used to pair an Accuphase DP500 paired with Plinius and Dyn. I also have a Spendor S3/5 in another system so i'm familiar with its voicing. If you are looking for the CDP to compensate against the warm and laid-back nature of the Plinny-Spendor ...
Using Power Conditioners/Distribu with Amplifiers
I have a Hydra8V2 feeding my JR C500 amp at 1,000wpc into my 4ohm Dyn C1 speakers. PCs are RSA Alethias, Anaconda Helix and Lessloss. I'm not sure how much more you can go past this amp power wattage but in this setup the Hydra definitely brings e...
Levinson 383 or Rowland Continuum 500
Thanks Jprice, I wish I could turn up the volume a bit more during break-in, but I can't given apartment neighbors. My bass issue could actually be speaker-placement related among other things.
Levinson 383 or Rowland Continuum 500
Hi Jprice, I have about 150 hours (low volumes) on my C500 and although I feel it is already an across-the-board step up from my former integrated amp (Plinius 9200), the bass of the C500 doesn't seem to be as textured and nuanced as the Plinius. ...
Kimber Palladian or Lessloss DFPC Original
This may be sort of a stretch... many years ago I compared a Shunyata Python Alpha with a Palladian PK10 and thought the Python was significantly more balanced, neutral and transparent - overall superior. Years later I compared a Shunyata Anaconda...
Plinius 9100 vs Luxman L-505U
Yup, indeed interesting. I found the older Plinius 8200 to clearly outperform an MF A308 integrated IMS, and this MF significantly outperformed a NAD and Rotel integrated, again IMS. The 8200 was later replaced by a 9200, which was even more super...
Accuphase SACD DP-85 problem
Accuphase Japan in my experience rarely if ever respond to email. With my Accuphase CDP I had the opportunity to buy it cheap b/n in another country but decided to get it at a premium in my home country because of this Accuphase protective support...
